The more I look into this the more I think the best option is to just leave the stock stem on it and pony up for the OneUp or e13 carbon bars with the cable routing holes. At least with the stock stem there's the hole for the controller cable and space behind the bars for the little junction box.

Mod it with nukeproof parts,get rid of the knockblok,i made a tubular tool that slides down the fork tube so when you takr the fork out the cables and spacers stay put.

Was it a lot of work to switch that out? I don’t know if I would trust myself to swap the SIC HS02-06 Universal Cable Collector for what I have now. Can you use the same handlebars that it comes with? I have the same bike as you in a size large so I think it will work.

The manufacturers of all internally routed cables need to use some sort of tubing/conduit in the frame. It would make cable/hose replacement a piece of cake! It would also get rid of cable rattles.

Specialized really tied down the cables to cut down on noise. I was able to disconnect the dropper lever and loosen the cable tie downs and pull out my post without moving the motor. One of my riding buddies had to pull the motor to free up the post cable…… so I guess the reply is “it depends “.
