Help me get better: rate my answers (there's a ✓ / ✗ on each one now)

The main issues I see with Greg are, in my opinion: 1) Far too verbose. Most people simply don't have the time or the inclination to read a three-page narrative in response to a straightforward technical question. More concise answers would be much more appreciated, especially since no...

Question about maintenance stands for heavy e-bikes

Yeah, what for an electrical engine and/or an hydraulic actuator? To lift 25 kg once in a month? At more than 1000 $??

Humble suggestion: rather than a YES/NO option, maybe a 1-5 star would be better?

Question about maintenance stands for heavy e-bikes

Currently I have no room for it at home, but I was thinking to buy one of this (250 kg load or more typically) and bold one of this (or similar) to the end of the arm: Total cost less than 200 €. Movable, heavy, stable, flexible. And cheap.

Question about maintenance stands for heavy e-bikes

Thanks, this is probably the most realistic solution. However, I do not understand why there is such a gap between cheap stand and outrageously expensive and complex hydraulic or electric stand. 90 € vs. 1000€? Not a single company able to produce a 200 bucks stand with some wires or...

Question about maintenance stands for heavy e-bikes

Thanks, but I would like to have something able to rise the bike with some lever or mechanism. This doesn't fit that requirement., otherwise there are a zillion available at much less.

Question about maintenance stands for heavy e-bikes

The only one I've found is the Park Tool Pro, but it costs close to €1,000. Also the Feedback Sport is outrageously expensive. For home use, I don't see the need for an electric motor or hydraulic pump. It adds a lot of cost and complexity, and not everyone even has a power outlet in their...

Question about maintenance stands for heavy e-bikes

I’m looking to buy a maintenance stand for my e-bike, ideally staying under €100 (less if possible). I’ve found quite a few options, but I can’t quite understand the practical side of using them : the issue is lifting the bike and getting it into the clamp. My e-bike is quite heavy. If I will...

Chain skipping under load after bike service

I took my bike in for a service. Everything seemed fine, but yesterday I finally had a chance to ride it again and noticed that, as soon as I put some torque on the pedals (going uphill or accelerating), the chain starts slipping over the cassette sprocket. It's also quite dangerous, I lost my...

What about the Amflow TL Carbon 800 (+ 480) Wh??

I think you're mostly right. I didn't care much about Amflow until recently. But to be honest I think they have an excellent marketing dept. For example, calling the Carbon TL "the SUV of e-bikes" doesn't make any sense. Zero. Nada. An SUV is a larger car, developed to overcome some US...

What issues have you experienced on your e-MTB?

The results so far: As expected the most frequent issues are drivetrain (more common, 41%) and motors (38%). Then the other components. (I have used Claude to convert a screenshot to the excel file, but I haven't fully checked everything was correct, only random data. Than I formatted data...

What about the Amflow TL Carbon 800 (+ 480) Wh??

I'm actually one of those people. I didn't buy an e-MTB to ride technical trails, but because I occasionally find myself on very demanding off-road routes (and my e-MTB helped a lot on those situations). I also don't like owning three, or even two, versions of the same thing. I'm always looking...
