GOBAO P100 / P120 as upgrades for Shimano EP series

Husqvarna HC6-9 is another capable ebike that comes to mind.

GOBAO P100 / P120 as upgrades for Shimano EP series

https://en.brujulabike.com/this-idea-and-motor-can-turn-the-e-mtb-market-upside-down/ Wow! I didn’t expected that but I really like the ideea of upgrading electrical system rather than the whole bike. Chinese did it again with Gobao P100/P120 line of mid drive motors. They have the same form...

    GOBAO ECVT EMTB Mid-Drive Motor

The only ebike I tried with an e-cvt only worked if power was on. Without power you rotate the crank but that’s all. For a city bike this is an advantage, being some kind an anti-theft device :) What’s worth to mention is that both electric motors will provide torque to the...

Current Avinox MG Prototype Bikes Don't Support Battery Regen

I saw something about Avinox getting to Mars so maybe it's rocket science... I don't care what kind of science it is as long as you can explain to me how this Avinox e-CVT (which is a prototype that you haven't tried I'm sure) works in different modes of operation (inputs/outputs) and how it...

Current Avinox MG Prototype Bikes Don't Support Battery Regen

So most of us aggressively take sides to what? To something that didn't hit the market yet? Where's the rush? As @Fangs2k said e-cvt can coexist with standard systems. And it won't be cassettes/derailleurs available only for low end spec bikes. There's yet plenty to be made from both types of...

    Avinox Reveals its Motor Gearbox

This is not how e-cvt works. It uses 2 electric motors and a planetary gear to create a variable ratio between the inputs and the output. Works very well in hybrid cars, some e-CVTs were implemented around 20 years ago. Back to eMTB space, it's interesting that a year ago, people said that...

Do 12 speeds still make sense for full powered EMTB's?

Most likely it will be an e-CVT, which will use gears and 2 electric motors. This was presented last year at eurobike: https://www.pinkbike.com/news/owurus-continuously-variable-motor-gearbox-unit-eurobike-2025.html I've tested such a thing (e-cvt), I like the engineering behind (while I don't...

Cube Nuride Bosch PowerTube 750 Temperature too high error

Bms board and temperature sensors from a 750wh Bosch smart system powertube. Don’t know if there are major hardware revisions, I don’t deal with Bosch batteries too much.

    Avinox Gearbox.

Why this reluctance towards anything Avinox related? Please share your experience with Avinox , what they really did to you, maybe we can understand and you'll feel better and maybe you'll change your mind about leaving. But if you must, there are alternatives to this forum....you can try...

Cube Nuride Bosch PowerTube 750 Temperature too high error

Wow, great answer @Greg Watts It's also important to point out another NTC parameter, Beta factor. Most batteries/BMS boards I serviced were using 10k B3950 type NTC sensors. Either bead or SMD. I think I encountered this fault on a Bosch smart 750 batteries some years ago. The BMS has 4x...

Levo gen2 vs gen3 frame weight

Well...thanks for your honest answer. I thought I might skip weighting the frames myself. I will update you with verified information when/if I do that, again, because I'm a nice person :) I want to custom build a fairly light full power trail bike starting from a gen2/3 Levo frameset. Of...

@Greg Watts Can you tell me which frame set is lighter between the 2 in the title? I'm interested in ALU version of the frames.

Do 12 speeds still make sense for full powered EMTB's?

So we’re all going towards direct drive? Some might still need gears along the way :-)

Do 12 speeds still make sense for full powered EMTB's?

RideShimano too, but you see, 11 is a prime number, I'll stick to that. I would have gone for 13 but it brings bad luck. Rather a simple choice. How about a mid-drive with 2-3 speed internal gearbox coupled with 11 speed rear cassette? Or 7 speed. The final number of gears won't be a prime...

Re-Build ande Re-Cell of Shimano Batteries

My 2 cents. Without proper programming, the BMS will only count 504Wh, regardless of the extra capacity of the cell. Substract the % of health lost for actual capacity. Also without a proper battery pack housing/cell baskets, it won't survive for long in eMTB scenario.

Dumnezeule mare!

Any evidence of good engineering regarding waterproofing?

Some time passed since the Avinox's birth and I haven't seen/read any case in which the motor was destroyed because of water ingress...guess there aren't so many cases. In any case I don't think anybody can implement a worse waterproofing than Bosch :-) As for IP66, it won't tolerate jets with...
