Shenzhen Zhaosheng Carbon CEF52 using Shimano EP801 motor

Something else to consider, the Shimano ep800 motor that was supplied with the frame, cuts off very sharply at 25kph when restricted and feels like the brakes are on when trying to peddle above that speed, I don’t know if the ep801 displays the same behaviour, but mine definitely needs...

    Bafang m510

Yes, I have M510 4.0 version. Not impressed, motor is very noisy compared to the 3.0 version, and unlike 3.0 it is very difficult to use unsupported - yes I know it’s a e-bike, but when I would hit the 25kph limit with 3.0 the bike could still be peddled ok, with 4.0 when over 25kph, it’s like...

Shenzhen Zhaosheng Carbon CEF52 using Shimano EP801 motor

Another thing to consider, I wanted cables externally routed, but was supplied with an ICR headset, the top bearing did not have a seal fitted on one side of it and there was no seal to go under the top cap assembly, not ideal for wet, gritty and muddy conditions often encounter here in the UK...

Be mindful of which shock you fit, I originally intended to fit a Fox Float X P.S Elite 205 x 65mm, but it was hitting the frame, see photo

Finally, it’s completed. It’s a ‘cheap’ build with used or ‘new old’ kit. I Have only been out for a few non technical rides, it rides well, but I have to put quite a bit of effort in to get the best out of it. It’s noisy compared to either of my Bafang motors (M510/M820). It weighs 23 kilos.

Hi Mike, How could I check if I have an old or new M820 - would it be something to do with serial numbers etc.,? Thanks

Hi, my BSST.UC 3. 0. 3 tool stopped working after I tried an online update. Has anyone experienced this? Is there a fix? Thanks

    Bafang m510

Hi, a very odd thing has developed with my M510 v2 motor which is (was) restricted to 25kph. It has recently started to give support well beyond 25kph! I have not done anything to the motor since I last did some maintenance on it sometime last year. Has anyone else experienced this? Also...

Shenzhen Zhaosheng Carbon CEF52 using Shimano EP801 motor

I ordered the frame in December, was informed delivery would be late January, I had not considered that that new year could delay delivery. I already have 2 bafang powered bikes with M510 and M820 motors, my first 2 m510 motors had to be replaced due to various issues, the third has had 3...

Shenzhen Zhaosheng Carbon CEF52 using Shimano EP801 motor

I have ordered a CEF52, currently they can only supply the EP800 motor and E8035 battery, but I’m ok with that. I was led to believe that they would have had it complete and ready for freight by the end of January but there has been delays. It appears it won’t be sent until the end of February...

    Bafang M820 Firmware thread

An update, so far so good. The firmware has enabled me to travel far more than previously on a single charge, currently I have covered 54k mostly in E mode, but only 564 ascent, it will be higher but I have not recorded height gain on two of the three short rides I have done so far, 41%...
