Hmm, 10% is a fair chunk of battery to give up. Would be nice to be able to configure the percentage on a user level.

Traditional belt driven CVTs are not relevant to what Avinox and Gobao have shown (i.e. eCVTs).

That Commencal one is defo one of the nicer tensioner solutions I've seen. It's interesting that most of the Avinox protos were spec'd with chain over a belt too. I think this would be mt preference also. You would still save some maintenance compared to a normal drivetrain. Belts sounds great...

Yes, but that is the case with anything on a bike. There's always a chance of something breaking. Most of the gearbox solutions use a bottom bracket mounted solution which more out of the way than a derailleur. Even a dropout mounted tensioner would be far smaller and out of the way compared...

That's a pretty slick looking bike. Done a good job to keep the downtube relatively slim while keeping a big removable battery. Shame about the lack of cable port on the headtube though.

Rob wasn't talking with Canyon in the vid it was someone from Avinox. They were just using the Canyon frame as the prop.

I think Bosch releasing a gen 6 as an eCVT is a good way to get out of the 750w corner they have put themselves in. They can say 750w isn’t enough for an eCVT to work.

So just add a battery door (on the bottom this time) and a SWAT fanny pack and we have the Levo 5! I mean the guy in Rob's video said he was with a Swiss company and Specialized's emtb office is in Switzerland. Would be very funny if they actually revealed the Levo 5 as a no label demo bike 7...

Those battery options very close dimensionally to the Bosch 600/800wh ones. So there won't be any slim downtubes here. @Rob Rides EMTB are they targeting a 2027 release for this system?

I'm surprised at the people commenting who think this thing is going to arrive to the market assume sort of unrefined gen 1 product that won't work well. Avinox did not do that with the M1, they did all the hard work before hand and brought a very mature product to market when it launched. I am...
