    The chainring can be installed on either side of the spindle. Outside/inside are both possible. I installed it on the outside because I’m running 4.8” tires on winter. The chain will rub those huge tires if installed on inside.

    I understand your point. I dared to make the cut because that’s pretty much the area where the frame gets the least of torsional forces. The upper tube is just getting pushed from both ends unlike the down tube.

    This is how you can retrofit a DPC.030 on any frame. This is a Dengfu E10 fatbike. Just drill a hole 1-2 mm smaller than the outside edge. Then a drop of glue in around the top notch. I’ve done now 2000 km’s and no issues. Frame works perfectly and the screen hasn’t budged.
