How are you lot washing your bikes without contaminating your pads and rotors?

I spray my bike with diluted Dawn dish soap, including the discs and pads. Then I rinse with a hose. I've never had contamination in this process. I've been using this process for over 20 years, with numerous brake, disc and pad combos. The brake swill squeal while they're wet of course, but...

Do 12 speeds still make sense for full powered EMTB's?

Just get a bigger front chainring. Have you reached the limit on your frame?

Do 12 speeds still make sense for full powered EMTB's?

On tight, techy climbing switchbacks, the advantage of a large cassette chainring is the ability to go slow, while having a reasonable cadence, which, for me, helps with balance. On the high end, a small ring for speed is also great. The two extremes are useful, but I don't need ten gears in...

    More power, more torque?

It makes perfect sense. Getting your heart rate up, no matter the method, is a good thing for fitness. I'm running one-to-one support on my Fazua, with 120w supplied as I hit 120w from my input. Even at close to 10,000' elevation on steep, techy terrain, that is much easier than on my MTB. What...

    More power, more torque?

People can do whatever they want, but an invalid could get up about anything at 95NM and 600 watts, unless the algorithm is you don't get 600w until you put in 600. I'm guessing it's more like put in 100, get 600.

Dang you guys use a lot of power and torque in your settings!

High Roller 3 vs Maxxis Assegai: 15 Timed Runs

My conclusion is that I'm really happy I'm biking in Utah, and not in Wales! I have my wife on the Assegai up front, just because it's so predictable. No matter the angle against the ground, the cornering grip is about the same. I always found that if you really had to grip on non-bermed corners...

    Avinox M2S: 1,500W, 150Nm, and a PR Offensive

For our purposes, I agree. Both my wife and I have the onset rate (launch) dialed down to the minimum, which makes it feel much more like a mountain bike. It's personal preference, of course. In my youth, I was an enthusiastic "dirt biker" (as in non-competitive trail motorcycling) when I lived...

    Avinox M2S: 1,500W, 150Nm, and a PR Offensive

I would be fine if Avinox could use a version of their motor that is significantly lighter, but it's already pretty light. At less than 6 pounds, I'm guessing they wouldn't be able to cut the weight in half by cutting the power in half, but if they could, sign me up! Between reducing motor...

Levo Gen 4 Upgrade brakes on new Levo R S-works?

It's only a limit if you "fess up".

    More power, more torque?

The EMTBReview guy ran the 700wh battery on the Amflow PX out of juice in about 28 minutes, and that was with 150W input from the rider. It's probably not a huge surprise that a 1500w draw out of a 750wh battery (to make the math easy) would drain the battery in half an hour, or close to it...

Puzzled by Service from my LBS

Yes, you should be pissed. Yes, they should all be in chains in a dungeon. Start over at a decent shop. 8 months seems pretty short for a Deore cassette, as they are pretty sturdy. It seems a bit short for a chain as well, unless you're running a DJI in boost all the time. Get a chain wear...

    More power, more torque?

That's not controversial. My wife is 73. We live in Utah and ride from 7000' to almost 10,000' elevation. A typical 15 mile ride will have about 2000' of elevation gain, with a hard ride getting over 3000'. She's on a Trance X with 85NM available but never uses more than 50NM and 200% support...

Porsche are closing down E-bike division and Fazua

I'm on my second season on an Ari Nebo with the Fazua ride 60. In my case, I almost never use the motor above a 120w (Breeze, 1 to 1) power level. So far, I'm happy with the system. It's quiet, with no rattle on descents. Hopefully, since I use it at such low power settings, it'll last. I'm in...

    Arm pump/hand fatigue help?

Yeah, I think more sweep is often "more" better. When I put bars with 12 degree back sweep on, I did also put on a slightly longer stem to maintain the basic geometry and it worked well. Years ago, I kayaked and the paddle caused bumps on the inside of the thumb joints, like a really thick...

    Arm pump/hand fatigue help?

Montana, where men are men, women are scarce and sheep are scared. I got some Rockbros lock on foam grips off Amazon to try. They're pretty comfy and only $12.
