    Other JUST DROPPED: All-new Slash+ e-MTB

good to know, thanks for testing! I’m curious about the bottom bracket height. But I happen to have both a 27.5” and 29” rear wheel with identical parts so I’ll just give it a go. (And my Tyee will then go mullet)

    Propain Sresh SL Shock Dilemma

What shock did you end up going with? I have owned both a Tyee 5 & 6, have tried a DHX coil, X2, super deluxe ultimate and currently an EXT storia. I really like the Pro-10 suspension - it is unique. Efficient and poppy, can be plush too. I wasn't originally happy with either air shock stock...

Test to check if your der. is tensioned properly: In your smallest cog, is the chain still tight? I found SRAM's installation instructions to be misleading- it's critical that the axle remains loose when you're tightening the der. hanger bolt. Otherwise the derailer doesn't get tensioned...

Might a TQ HPR90 announcement be imminent (June at Eurobike)?

Light weight, range, power. Pick two.

I just got updated to an HPR60 and based on one ride, it seems to be a lot more efficient than the HPR50. 2000' vert in trail mode consumed 33% battery, I think that might have been 45-50% with my previous motor. I have a sprained ankle and just put on heavier tires so not doing the bike any...

Might a TQ HPR90 announcement be imminent (June at Eurobike)?

I can't say if this is repeatable and don't want to abuse my batteries to prove it: I think mine provides some assistance (<Eco) if I stay in Eco mode when the battery gets below 15%. If I'm in trail or higher, it's hard done at 10%. It's either that, or a firmware change happened at some...

Let's see some pics! Mine just got warrantied into an HPR60. I'm (again) really impressed with the warranty/support through my local Trek store. Haven't ridden just yet, recovering from an ankle sprain. For me the main use of the 360 battery is road trips, where I can go multiple rides...

Correct. It's buried at the very end of the service manual!

It seems like many Slash+ owners have experienced this, but nobody agrees on the cause. My hunch is that the "linear" shock setting is closer to digressive. People are reporting this with different drive trains and shocks, so that reduces the variables other than the frame. In my case, it also...

Yeah weird, that should be silent! Diagnostic check- is the chain still tight in smallest cog? wondering if the transmission b-tension needs to be reset.

VHS Slapper tape makes a big difference. Much quieter than the stock stuff. Strictly on chain noise: I'm on transmission and there is really no noticeable chain noise- this is about the quietest bike I've ever owned. I can't say if Shimano might have more slaps. I don't think a sidekick will...

What you want improved on your next SL e-bike

Did a 3000' ride with a friend recently, me on a Slash+ (580wh) and him on a Forbidden Druid-E (800wh). Guess what, we used the same battery %! I don't think either of us were surprised. Much of the climb was conversational pace (pretty much max for my Slash+ with thermal limiting). Of course I...

Hey Slash'ers Jank Components (Eric Olsen) is now offering a much sturdier replacement taco/bashguards for the Slash+. I can guarantee they fit. They don't have the void that cracks easily like the stock ones, and they are much thicker too. You may recognize Eric from Pinkbike Academy, or...

Those who do bike parks or like to hit jumps

Needs to be an ASTM rating for rear hubs. Seems to be a first point of failure on many meatbikes- broken axles and failed freehubs. There are some seriously garbage OE hubs out there (Raceface Trace). Might not result in serious injury, but you get a long walk out and a choice between buying a...

What is your range in vertikal Meters in a trek slash plus? I only get 1000m vertical

Yeah, hard to say. When I first got mine (year+ ago) 1370m was no problem and I had battery left at the end. But these days it feels like I'm getting less range. Having been on TQ bikes for 4+ years now, I haven't really seen range degrade, so I suspect it's more about how I am using the bike...

What is your range in vertikal Meters in a trek slash plus? I only get 1000m vertical

Hey Moodle- I've consistently gotten 4500' out of mine (1371m) with battery left, but have also killed the battery at 1000m a few times, if it was very cold/hot or I was using boost the whole time and climbing technical trail. There's no doubt in my mind that the motor is most efficient in...

That is a tough one! I just had my Vivid & Zeb fully rebuilt. When I took it in, I said I might like a firmer compression tune on the Vivid. The shop suggested they should open it up first... ~10 months of riding and the oil was dark grey. I had the Zeb damper upgraded to a 3.1 (just new...

    Advice needed! Torn between Rail+ & Fuel+

    Advice needed! Torn between Rail+ & Fuel+

Maybe I've missed something - according to Trek's website the weight difference between a Fuel+ and a Rail+ with the similar parts, is around 10lbs.
