    GOBAO ECVT EMTB Mid-Drive Motor

Sure I get it, belts are not for everyone. I watched this video from expedition bike rider Tristan Ridley a few months ago which is a good overview of Belt Drive vs Chains

    GOBAO ECVT EMTB Mid-Drive Motor

The system supports both a chain and a belt, so just choose whichever option you prefer :) Time to move on 💡

    GOBAO ECVT EMTB Mid-Drive Motor

At higher power outputs, cog belts are more efficient than metal chains because they lack the joint friction and metal-on-metal wear that rob power over time. Belts are also clean, silent and require zero lubrication. This Gobao system also supports a chain should you wish to run one. As for...

    Avinox Reveals its Motor Gearbox

For sure the first version will not be fully optimised in the noise, efficiency and weight areas. That will come over a decade+ of development

    Avinox Reveals its Motor Gearbox

It supports Belts - the Mondraker concept is belt driven. See the Youtube thumbnail of the belt bike a little further up this thread.

Bosch power chewing up chains and cassettes

Indeed. The Deore M6100 cassette doesnt have any Aluminum rings, they are all steel. A little heavier but more robust. This is a M6100

Bosch power chewing up chains and cassettes

My son has the same gearing on his eMTB and I changed everything at 800 miles. In the future, i'll be changing the chain more regularly (300 to 400 miles) to prolong the life of the cassette and front chain ring.

    Avinox Reveals its Motor Gearbox

That's just the world and how progress works. Take a look at EV's. Example : a Porsche Taycan Turbo G1 cost £150k in 2021, the Gen2 comes out 3/4 years later with much better tech, +40% range, lighter weight, more power and faster charging. Prior to buying a product you should do some...

Bosch power chewing up chains and cassettes

I just changed both of our Trek Rail drivetrains at 1,000 miles : the Chain, cassette, jockey wheels and front chain ring. I'll be fitting a new chain every 300-400 miles now to reduce wear on the more expensive cassette

Might a TQ HPR90 announcement be imminent (June at Eurobike)?

My son has said he wants a much lighter eMTB for his next bike, when he out grows his Trek Rail 5 (25Kg). Feels like a TQ90 motor, with a ~600Wh (ish) battery with bike builds under/around 20Kg would be the sweet spot. This would be a bike giving him the power, torque and range he has now but...

What did you do to your EBike this week?

Today I changed the two complete drivetrains on our Trek Rails - Chain - Cassette - Front chain ring - RD jockey wheels My Trek Rail 9.7 was very overdue : I still had the original chain since purchase fitted, over 2 years ago and 1,300 miles later : when I lined up the old chain against the...

What's next for Marin and EMTB's?

Do they come with an easy user removeable battery? That Salsa : -> Deore brakes vs Mavens - that's a big difference ! -> A 625 battery vs 800 saves over 1Kg and a bit money. -> Trail tyres vs Gravity tyres saves another 1KG+ I know other cheaper, lighter and smaller battery bikes exist. That's...
