To be fair to Marin, the lighter bikes are 1.5x to 2.5x more expensive. My Trek Rail weighs 26kg (58lbs) with a rear coil spring, gravity tyres and Mallet E clip pedals, which isn't so much a problem for me, but if I'm upgrading my sons Rail (he's still growing fast) then it's approaching half...
