Do 12 speeds still make sense for full powered EMTB's?

Not only: I want also on the E-Bike drive my own cadence. I´m missing, with 12Speed, one gear at my mondraker: With one gear over 25kph the cadence is to high. With the next gear, I´m zu weak, to keep > 25kph (Shut down speed here in Europe). So, many Gears help, to drive with the best...

    Avinox M2S: 1,500W, 150Nm, and a PR Offensive

Correct, so the CX5 can delivere the 120nm only till ~ 50rpm.... Higher cadence = lower torque. The Avinox have the same torque over a wide range of cadence. This is one point, why its feel so naturaly. If Bafang is OK for you: Bafang M560, 185Nm, 2000W Peak.

Compare Mondraker Zendit versus Crestline RS 181.2

@Greg Watts: Power = force × speed. Up to what cadence is the force equivalent to that of the 700W and 800W batteries, and is the full 150 Nm available in Boost mode? At what cadence does the torque become limited due to the 1300W output of the 800W battery in Boost mode?
