    Other JUST DROPPED: All-new Slash+ e-MTB

OK, so how do I reduce the noise this bike makes when going over bumpy terrain? I've read various reviews that talk about chain slap, so I've removed the standard chain stay protector and replaced it with vhs slapper tape, which has fixed a lot of the noise. But I'm still getting some noise...

With these E-CVT's kill the rest of the market?

I can see that eventually gearbox motors might kill off regular motors + derailuer, but it'll be a few years away. The first iteration of gearbox bikes will be poor/compromised in some way or other, it won't be until the second gen that they start to refine the design. If I was in the market...

    Bike industry is very frustrating

Get a bike that suits your needs with the bosch gen 5 motor at a great discount and ride the hell out of it for 4 years, then buy whatever else is available at that time. The motor a bike uses is not the be all and end all of a an emtb, the bosch is a great system, especially if you can get it...

Might a TQ HPR90 announcement be imminent (June at Eurobike)?

It was similar for the hpr50, the display showed it peaking at 315 to 320 watts not the 300 watts max that the motor was supposed to be limited to. I have no idea whether those numbers are accurate. With regard to limiting power in the last 10% of battery, all the tq batteries do this on the...

Interestingly the service manual for the bike does state to torque all the suspension bolts up to final torque with the bike on the ground, so that the suspension is not drooping.

They're the same diameter, but the bolt on the slash is a lot shorter. I did take the Pinner bolt off my fuel exe in the hope os using it on the slash but it's too long.

I think I've worked out what is causing the crack sound, I can repoduce it at will now. So, I think the lower shock mount bolt is under sized for the eyelet of the shock, just like of the fuel exe. This means that when the bolt is not fully tight there is a bit of play between the shock eyelet...

Might a TQ HPR90 announcement be imminent (June at Eurobike)?

If its not going to compete with avinox on power/torque then it needs to differentiate itself in some other way, weight, noise levels, efficiency, size, all need to be better than avinox (and the other full fats) otherwise why choose the tq motor system? I've got 2 bikes with the tq hpr60, it...

    Trek Fuel EXE overstroke experiences

I've been running a fuel exe with a shock set to 62.5mm stroke for 4 years with no issues. I did have a look at it set to 65mm,but the linkage looked a bit too close to the frame at bottom out for me to run it like that, but it seems plenty of other people have done it with no issues.

I've had a few more rides now, and the noise hasn't recurred, so not sure what it was, but it seems fine now. Quite liking the magic carpet ride from the rear suspension, allows you to maintain so much speed through rough bits. Current weight is just over 21kg with pedals. I Don't think I...

Atherton S170.E Dyf-E bike coming soon...

I don't have much to add to this thread, but I saw one of these being ridden round Llandegla on Saturday, was good to see one in the wild, and the bike itself looked pretty nice.

What new features would you like to see...

More efficiency, and therefore smaller batteries and therefore lower weight. Lower weight in the motors. Better reliability. Lower prices I don't really care about more power,I just bought a bike with the tq hpr60, having previously had.A bike with the tq hpr50

Did you fix the cracking noise? I just picked up a brand new 2026 slash+ 9. 7 with the cable operated sram transmission 70. I went for the first ride and got a loud crack just popping off a small (6 inch high) lip. It definitely wasn't a bottom out noise, it was actually pretty similar to the...
