Crestline RS 181.2 thread – builds, reviews, technical info

Which ext shock ? The older storia's have a bottom out spacer that people commonly used an adhesive to attach to the foam pad. It'd rattle around a bit on the shaft. Other than that, you should only be able to hear the squooshy noises.

    🔋 Semi-Solid-State batteries revolution!

The cells currently used in most e-bike/e-moto batteries are at least one, if not several generations behind. Simply changing to molicell 65's would result in a capacity and charge speed upgrade for every current battery, including the avinox's. And they drop right in to the existing battery...

Sorry, it gets old, the marketing shenanigans...

    🔋 Semi-Solid-State batteries revolution!

You've clearly not read this thread, but there's no such thing as solid state batteries. All current batteries are technically already semi solid state batteries, you are drinking the marketing koolaid being set in front of you.

Buying a Kenevo SL in 2026.

I had one. The rear kinematic is good, but certainly not the best currently available. Everything else is poor. Reach too long, stack too short, motor too weak, battery too small, f/r ratio doesn’t make sense in larger sizes, etc. It’s easily outperformed descending by a wide variety of modern...

    Forbidden DreadNought E

It’ll be a year or two before we see them. Battery upgrades will happen first. And it’ll be a v1 product, which will likely have flaws. Figure 3-4 years before a solid v2 product. Those holes on the back of the dread-e are for the lower chain roller, which can be purchased from forbidden’s shop...

    Forbidden DreadNought E

Again, it’s not terribly sensitive to setup. I believe it is specifically yours, very likely the issue is with the derailleur. Have you tried another derailleur yet ? Forbidden does have a lower guide pulley available for the e-dread now too, which improved shifting for some on the acoustic...

That's certainly a more sensible design from a frame production standpoint. Blind inserts are always a liability, particularly on the interior of a mold.

2027 Orbea Wild LT Released - Avinox Powered

The 800wh top bolt is secured by a bolt that goes throught the battery and into a threaded insert in the frame. The display has to be removed to access it on most frames. The 600wh top bolt is the same as the lower, just a bolt through the frame into a threaded insert in the battery itself...

    New Geometry Compare Tool

I missed it, nice one. This forum is one stop shopping. More geo arguments from folks that haven't actually ridden the bikes !

Help me decide: Forbidden Druid E vs. Orbea Wild

I still believe the voima is a poor example of the "forbidden" style geo, and it's a mistake to use it as a basis. The wheelbase difference alone is a full 30mm less on the s2 vs k1. And I wouldn't consider an s2 unless I was shorter than 5'9". But all good, everybody has their comfort zone...

    New Geometry Compare Tool

Nice ! I'd consider adding a f/r ratio percentage to it as well, as that's a pretty big piece of info that only bike-stats - everything about bike geometry does for you right now I believe.

The e-dread comes with a "custom" tune. It just tweaks to the baseline auto setting.

Your screen name is powerslider ! I feel like I should be preaching to the choir :) . Plan is to visit phoenix at some point this winter, lets go ride some kitty litter and you can laugh at me getting hung up on every corner. :D

Help me decide: Forbidden Druid E vs. Orbea Wild

We are beating a dead horse here at this point, but I don't believe you have ridden and tested longer chainstay bikes coupled with shorter reach and higher stack. You use the voima as a prime example, the k2 has a poor f/r ratio, and the k1 has a low stack. Again, give one a go in real life...

Help me decide: Forbidden Druid E vs. Orbea Wild

For sure, you've adopted a riding style/bias, and are sticking to it. And you're making assumptions based on that. But if you get the chance, try an s3 e-forbidden. I think you'll be surprised by the agility of what should otherwise feel like a long wheelbase plow bike, but does not.

2027 Orbea Wild LT Released - Avinox Powered

It gives you more options to slide the rear around, nose pick turns, and open corners up by running wider lines on terrain unsuitable to just dragging brakes and steering. I'm sure that shorter wheelbases are preferable in arizona's terrain, hence pivot still being in business. But my point was...

2027 Orbea Wild LT Released - Avinox Powered

I'd have zero issues ripping that on a 1290mm. More speed gives you more options for corners...
