Do 12 speeds still make sense for full powered EMTB's?

Yes, without question with the available torque and power available to the current emtb bikes, it is possible to have fewer gears. However, when riding beyond battery capacity in the back country I alway try to be as efficient as possible so I am not in a situation where I have a dead battery...

    GOBAO ECVT EMTB Mid-Drive Motor

I am new to the concept of e-cvt and just coming to the conclusion that the chain ring rotates at a different cadence than the pedal crank. Interesting...

2027 Orbea Wild LT Released - Avinox Powered

I suggest that we form an Opinion Preservation Society. Can we create a members only sub forum called Everything I Don't Ride or not made in my country Is wrong: It could be a nice walled garden where every new technology can be declared dead on arrival before anyone has to test it. Starting...

Current Avinox MG Prototype Bikes Don't Support Battery Regen

Just as a concentric pivot offered real technical advantages but didn't make conventional suspension obsolete, an e-CVT may offer clear benefits without making derailleur drivetrains disappear. As for Regen, I will probably be riding a flying emtb before one with the ability to regenerate while...

    MGU E-bike availability

Is part of the problem that there are only about only 4 large frame manufactures in Asia that are making most all of the frames for most all of the brands.

Do 12 speeds still make sense for full powered EMTB's?

Interesting that a Tesla is a single speed transmission and goes 0 to 200 mph (model S Plaid)

    GOBAO ECVT EMTB Mid-Drive Motor

Yes , prior to the output shaft are reduction gears in a standard e bike. What is the flow of other systems , I would believe that each system would need to reduce motor speed prior to the gears / CVT or am I making a false assumption. Derailleur final drive sprocket say a chain ring of 36...

    GOBAO ECVT EMTB Mid-Drive Motor

On a derailleur drivetrain how many gears are rotating/ meshing downstream of the motor output shaft (edit, after motor speed reduction) is it a chain ring gear, 1 sprocket, 2 jockey wheels. Now co considering each meshing gear has associated friction, how many on a e CVT and how many on a...

Amflow PL Carbon owners, check your seat tube for cracks!

Correct, am I seeing the Crack is linear and possibly at the center of the mould halves, could the significant layers be placed on each half of the mould and the Crack is weakness at the area both halves meet.

So You want to save some money buying a "Grey Market Bike"... You might think, "Doesn't the law say a product has to work if it's sold as new?" Yes, this is called the Implied Warranty of Merchantability. However, under the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), an implied warranty is a promise made...

    Avinox Reveals its Motor Gearbox

If there is a liquidity squeeze, legacy inventory will definitely have a fire sale. Otherwise the suplus will slowly get absorbed by average bike riders that are not up to speed with the market. (A good example is how many Levo 4's were sold at a premium for a legacy design) I like Bosch for...

Can We Please Stop Attacking Each Other & Being So Defensive Because We Have Different Opinions!

Agreed. I want to go back to the days when my only 'algorithm' was a disgruntled local bartender or the guy down the street who yelled at clouds. At least their echo chambers had a decent draft beer selection. Or better yet, go back to the Plato and Socrates era when the ultimate 'platform' was...

    GOBAO ECVT EMTB Mid-Drive Motor

As I wait for availability of the new Avinox powered bikes espically the Amflow PR, I am starting to notice the "new guy in town" especially some of the technology which appears to be "out innovating the innovator". Their decision to go with a higher voltage standard is a prime example of...

    GOBAO ECVT EMTB Mid-Drive Motor

I have wondered why Avinox doesn't adopt a higher voltage . Higher voltage equals smaller copper wire throughout the system. Voltage vs motor size In electrical engineering, higher voltage 52 vs. 36 does not automatically mean a motor must be larger. In fact, the opposite is often true...

Amflow PL Carbon owners, check your seat tube for cracks!

Definitely , standing behind warranty repairs is critical for a bike owner's investment . I'm under the assumption that the bike was purchased in a "Grey market " which is risky to say the least. Speaking for myself, the aggravation and lost time during the riding season in pursuit of a...

Amflow PL Carbon owners, check your seat tube for cracks!

When a problem has come to a road block, instead of prolonging the grievance finding a solution is a good next step. So, if you look at that crack near the seat post, I have some good news it is a very straightforward, reliable, and low-cost fix. Because it’s a carbon frame, there is no...

Current Avinox MG Prototype Bikes Don't Support Battery Regen

Thank you for follow up, and yes anytime the pedals rotate it provides the opportunity to create current. My belief is that it is the recovery of kinetic energy wasted on brakes to create electricity instead of heat is the practical application of regen.

GOBAO P100 / P120 as upgrades for Shimano EP series

Interesting, do I assume that Gabao is saying that a manufacturer with a current mold that does not support the "new new" generation of drivetrains, can bring relevence to a previously legacy design.
