I just changed out the pivot bearings( proper knackered) and trunnion (quite knackered) on my Sommet all the other bearings are in good shape. The seat stay and chainstay bearings are Max as standard on my 2018 frame, I just repacked them and they are smooth. I put the Aliminum rocker in boiling...
Spray GT85 into the switch and it should work freely again. Mine would always play up after a wet ride. Changed to the 6000 3 button in the end so much better .
Torque sensor is starting to fail, same happened to me a few months back, new motor is the only fix. Seems to be a common issue with shimano. I would not buy another Shimano for a few years this seems far to common.
I do have the reciept so I think I will give them an email, but I did ask them at the time if I could go the LBS route but they insisted on me sending the bike back.
I would'nt buy an ebike from CRC again, I had a motor issue and they just wanted the bike back which means having to have 3 days off work. 1 for a bike box to be delivered.
2 another to have the bike to be picked up in the new box, then wait for CRC to tell you what your local bike shop already...
That E010 error is most likely the torque sensor is faulty and you need a new motor, same thing happened to my Vitus. There is a big thread in the shimano motors section. seems a massive problem with the steps motors
The guide RE are excellent brakes mine need a bit of attention with sticky piston just took the pads out and worked them a few time and lubed with fluid now they are fantastic better than my XT brakes on my old bike
I stick a screwed up plastic bag in mine the thin ones you get from the turkish when you buy a few beers, stops all the crap going up there which always gives my bike a creak. arghhhhhhhhhhh
Just been told I have had the motor replaced ready to pick up tomorrow from LBS, gave up trying to deal with CRC rather pay my LBS to deal with it.
Does this mean I have another 2 years warranty?
As a shimano e8000 owner thats awaiting a warranty repair/replacement drive unit i am starting to think about whats going to come of these motors after they come out of warranty and fail. There does not seem to be any repair service or spare motor parts availability. Does shimano expect us to...
Looks like my 2018 sommet vr joined the E010 club yesterday, im going to try I get it dealt with via a local shop even if it costs me a bit more. As soon as I should the mechanic he said looks like the torque sensor has gone. Seems these shimano motors are dying at quite a rate from this thread.
Just spray some gt85 into it and normal service will return. I think they all play up after getting wet once the greace washes out inside. The electrics are sealed in resin so dont worry. I got rid of mine in the end and put the 3 button 6000 unit on.
I have this with my 2018 sommet, although to a lesser degree, the rubber chain guard has a chunk missing and there is a tiny bit of paint worn away. Tbh I not even bothered about it, I just touched it up with the paint that came with the bike. I think it might have been my fault as I have...
Vitus have never replied to me in under 2 weeks, contacted them 3 times regarding spares and each time they were of no help, they have worst customer service out there.
I have a steps e8000 bike and my pal has a 2019 levo, my bike is better specced but id take the Levo for the near silent brose motor, its just a better motor than the shimano e800, has better range range and way more torque. He has had a few electrical issues which seems very common on the levo.
