Where would this technical miracle honestly come from :- ) ? Not disputing it's torquey (higher limit) and more silent (better casing), but there is no internal change apparently that would achieve efficiency difference.
Efficiency difference is rather moot in between different engines across...
For 300 or 600 USD, you might as well buy some nice Lego for Christmas or Hope brakes :- ). 90perc. of crank strikes are about riding technique (timing, position,..).
Also the Praxis carbon cranks are legendary in the worst way possible.
I've run my KSL in Mullet (Neutral headset, 170mm ZEB...
They weight as little as 12KG when made by Gustav Dangerholm :- ) And average enduro accoustic bike is 15kg now with solid tyres @ 29" wheels, even at S-Works prices.
But perhaps we'll all ride Pi-Rope wheelsets by then :- )
I have to say the glossy finish on my black KSL is so thick and durable that after two years and frequent crashing it still looks brand new. My Sram Codes look like they are from trashbin though, and my Zeb stanchions are scratched, but fixed with nail color, works like nothing happened.
But...
Come to think of it, it's often interesting how many people on forums (people I presume are often closer to higher weight, 90+ kg) often struggle with Enduro bikes that come with X2 unless it's some very progressive bike (very few are, like YT, Unno, Pole,etc.. but def not...
I got my X2 from SC Nomad take-off. Before I bought it, I compared the leverage curves which I didn't find different enough to warrant issue and presumed the tune would be similar.
The Specialized KSL X2 "RX" Tune was harder to decipher as it doesn't come with Code you can just identify on Fox's...
I am 177cm (5' 9.5"?), 82cm inseam (32"?) and I find S3 somewhere between ideal and on cusp of slightly too big. The 460mm reach isn't even that big for what I would consider "Medium" size today. After switching to Mullet and 35mm Stem, the bike became mini-DH bike, which is exactly what I...
That Kid's SL bike is also weirdly designed in principle. Any kid riding it will be half the weight of average adult, so why did they kept the full 320W battery? The bike is nowhere "SL" weight enough for kids. Must still ride like absolute shit, they should have repurposed the 160W from...
That over-run sound is something I experienced few times under specific conditions (interestingly, I believe going downhill), but just super occasionally. Enough to throw me off (broken engine?) but not enough to be occurrence.
The 19kg carbon 540W Orbea is very surprising, but so is 20kg...
Nice deal..and the nicest colorway. Still slightly regret not getting it, was worried about the screaming s-works white lettering would be tad bit too much. Looks great though.
Slightly off-topic/on-topic: Latest LoamWolf reviews of SL-bikes, and no mention of "whisper-quiet" Mahle1.2 engine...
None of the SL engines I have seen, including two of mine vary their noise between Eco/Trail/Turbo or the settings. They get loud under high intensity.
Not sounding like kettle either, more like annoying Tinnitus. I still presume the better your hearing is (plus the older you are the more you...
100kg person would be above 250+ PSI point. The current X2 can take such pressure (for years 250 was limit due to frequent exploding.. then 300 PSI revision came).
I am 88kg and use 240 PSI on it. It's still fairly soft, cushy ride.
Cannibal only comes in 1400 grams Gravity casings, so unless compared to Assegai Maxxgrip DH, it's comparing two different tyres. T9 is also single-compound 50A durometer, while 3C Maxxgrip gets as low as 40 on Side Knobs surface. So if you were to run for example Assegai Maxxgrip Exo+ Gen2...
I run the 220mm HS2 rotors back and front on my KSL. It's improvement, and I would run them with any brakes to be honest, but it's not a true solution, rather a compensation. I also run Trickstuff 840 Power pads on front, the most powerful organic pads on market which improves the bite point...
For long-term health (or longer term storage, like Winter non-riding) it is beneficial.
But it is really overstated how much. I only charge my KSL to 100perc. most of the time, and with closing on 3K km soon, the battery health is 100perc still and no perceivable loss in capacity.
I am pretty...
If your dealer is anything like mine (Velosprint) biggest Specialized reseller in my country, they're often not even interested in selling me a bike, let alone look into system for anything :- ).
I remember when KSL Comp came out, I asked them if they can order it/had ordered some/etc.. and they...
Why would the engine not be compatible with existing MasterMind TCU on Kenevo SL though? I would wager it's the same unit with mere firmware flash. Of course, for Levo SL gen 1.0, TCU unit would be needed.
1700 USD + Whatever cranks work with it = 1900 USD, not great, not terrible. Up to around...
