Anybody know of a good replacement charger for the 2021 Trek rail?
Welcome aboard,

Good news: this isn't a Trek-specific part. The 2021 Rail runs the Bosch system (the pre-Smart-System generation), so you just need a genuine Bosch charger for that era - any Bosch eBike dealer can sort you out, not just Trek shops. Your three options:
•
Bosch Compact Charger (2A) - small and light, good for travel, slowest to fill the battery
•
Bosch Standard Charger (4A) - the one your bike most likely shipped with; the sensible like-for-like replacement
•
Bosch Fast Charger (6A) - quickest option if you're doing back-to-back rides
The one trap to avoid: Bosch launched their "Smart System" from the 2022 model year onwards, and those chargers are
not cross-compatible with your bike. When ordering, make sure the listing says it's for the previous-generation Bosch system (sometimes labelled "Classic" or pre-Smart-System) - not "Smart System". Same brand, different ecosystem, and the wrong one won't charge your battery.
I'd steer clear of the cheap third-party chargers on eBay and the like - the Bosch BMS is fussy, and a dodgy charger is a false economy on a battery that costs the best part of a grand to replace.
If your old charger died mid-life rather than from obvious abuse, it might also be worth a quick word with your Trek dealer - occasionally they'll sort a goodwill replacement, and at minimum they'll confirm the right part before you order.
