Just as predicted, the updated app has just hit the App Store.
Downloading it as I type. I won't be able to update the motor and ride until tomorrow.
Hopefully someone else will get a few miles in today.

Nice, so now you can get up to 2m of overrun without having the Race mode, that's great news. (y)

In the app description it says a future version will allow the pre tension to be turned on or off. I think I’ll wait until the future…. Or is the future now?🤔

Pretty straight forward update. Just needed to remove and reinstall the app and it was there.

I’m not entirely sure about the drivetrain tensioner (on/active by default on EMBT and EMBT+, on my gen 5 CX). I got some strange clanks from the drivetrain while testing the bike on the building’s garage, both with EMBT and EMBT+ (with extended boost set to 2)…

I've experienced something similar since the latest Power Upgrade. In eMTB+ mode, the cranks occasionally spin freely for a split second. The feeling is almost as if the crank is spinning on the axle before the drive re-engages.

Just became available on my pixel phone in the UK, downloaded and installed and hopefully get to try it later this week

I've just done first ride after the update and noticed that my SX motor burns about 30% more battery. This is one of my usual loops so I have pretty good idea of expected charge required to do it.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

Had the same feeling in my Gen5 trekking ebike. Happens at then point when pedals/cranks come from downwards rotation to upwards direction.

Regarding extended boost someone mentioned it nearly pushed him by surprise over a cliff.

I've now had the opportunity to ride the new update and put it through its paces. I think it's great. I like that the different aspects of the drive controller are separated and can be controlled individually.

Af first I was apprehensive about the Extended Boost. There's no way to know what the pre-set setting might have been previously, so I just set all the EB sliders to the default. Most of my time is spent in EMTB+, and I found the setting of 8 to be similar to what it was previously. Race Mode set to 10 is fine--it's Race Mode, after all. I rode it this way on some sketchy sections, and it was good. In super-sketch with high consequences, I'd still dial it back to EMTB+.

I'm not sure I could "feel" the pretension throughout the ride. It might be one of those things where you don't notice it until you ride without it. I know it was working because you can hear the motor's ratchet/clutch clicking momentarily when you stop pedaling.

I can't say if there are other improvements, but the bike felt fast and lively today. Mabye it's improved, or maybe the fresh air and sunshine were affecting my impressions.

1st ride today with the update. Set the extended boost to +5 on EMTB and now I can feel the boost, same as overrun was on my Gen3 in EMTB +. Going to try +10 tomorrow for the 2m extended boost/overrun.
I also heard the sound/noise of the pretension working but not sure yet about how well it works.

Another feature is the increased duration of the "Jump Screen" before it disappears. In the previous version, the screen would come and go before I was out of the sketchy stuff, and I could rarely see it. Now that the screen remains active a little longer, there's a better chance I can look down and be able to see the data. It's not a "big" feature, but it's still an improvement.

Hold the press... that's very concerning if the update affects efficiency. Please keep us updated.
I'm getting that for 3 rides now. My go to loop when I don't have a better idea for a ride is a 50km XC trail that usually leaves 60-ish percent from the full charge. This was consistent since I have this bike.

Now suddenly I'm in the 40-ish % territory with the worst case being 35%. My measured power and perceived effort level are constant since that started to happen. Same riding mode (Tour+), same default settings. The only thing that could be changed for the worse is the firmware. I even fully stripped down, cleaned, lubed and waxed everything to be sure.

The bike as well?! 😉😂

I’ll give my SX a ride out on my regular route this weekend, I haven’t managed to ride it since the update.
