What's next for Marin and EMTB's?

Hard pass. And I like Marin
What are the other similar options at this price point.

Trek Rail+ : 90% great but they come with poor tyres & brakes, so that’s another ~£450 to replace, plus more to fit if you don’t have the tools.

Orbea Wild : more expensive

Probably some others

Marin bikes have never been the ‘best’, or the cheapest….people buy them because they are fun to ride and also not coming from a mass corporation is an element too.

I really like Marin as a brand but can't help but feel that these didn't quite hit the mark. Perhaps a 600wh removable battery would have been a wiser choice to not only keep the weight/price down a bit.

First: Im thankful they didnt drink the Avinox kool-aid.
2nd If it rides like a heavier version of the enduro Bike it will be awesome.
Simple Bike, Bosch and I'd say itll ride good.

May have to get one to test

You can get a 600Wh battery for them.

Honestly - looking at the Marin website this morning, the prices and specs are unbeatable. If we didn't already have eMTB's and I was looking for long travel eMTB for my son, the Alpine Trail E2 for £5.6k would be a leading contender. This middle spec build kit seems the pick of the range.

-> RS Zeb Fork (170) and Vivid shock (160)
-> Maven brakes
-> SRAM Eagle T-Type
-> Schwalbe radial Magic Mary tyres (mullet setup)
-> Removable battery

The Amflow PR Carbon Pro is a bit cheaper (£300) and lighter (24KG) but running 160/150 travel and has a steeper headtube angle, and longer reach
