    Riding a tuned or deristricted EMTB is not a trivial offence and can have serious legal consequences. Also, many manufacturers can detect the use of a tuning device or deristricting method and may decline a repair under warranty if it was modified from the intended original specification. Deristricting EMTB's can also add increased loads for motors and batteries. Riding above the local law limit may reclassify the bike as a low-powered bike, requiring insurance, registration and a number plate.

    Be aware of your local country laws. Many laws prohibit use of modified EMTB's. It is your responsibility to check local laws. Ignoring it, has potential implications to trail access, and risk of prosecution in the event of an accident.

Please help me decide between MTT Smartchip,Speedfun or Bikespeed rs BoschGen4Smart disc magnet

So after lots of reading here,online and German forums I thought I had narrowed it down to the smartchipV2 from MTT,seems to be popular and successful for most people in Germany,my friend is going there soon so they can get it for me. It seems the simple ones that don't interfere with screen/controls or adding kms after rides is the way to go so Speedfun too . I had pretty much decided on the smartchip but then read about the Bikespeed rs, it does plug into the display and activated with button combo but the interesting part is the anti detection that lowers the speed to 30km if u ride too long at high speed. I don't like the idea of US firmware flash so i'd really like to hear from people that are using one of the mentioned chips/derestrictor,ie reliability,how many kms and how long you have been getting away with it. Any helpful input would be very much appreciated,cheers.

Speedbox.. really? I haven't read the greatest things about them,besides that's for the rim magnet not disc,cheers anyway.
