Hi,

I know that there is a very low chance of recovering the bike, but posting it here just in case someone sees a suspicious classified online.
My bike was full stock - the only special attributes were (1) Crankbrothers Stamp 7 pedals, (2) carbon fiber bottle holder (not on the picture) and (3) continental Europe brake setup - rear brake on the right and front brake on the left.

Although it is a 2021 model, it was in almost brand new condition with ±400 miles on the clock.

The bicycle was stolen on 29th of August in London. Neighbour's Trek Supercaliber 9.8 XT was stolen as well. The police is informed.

Hugely unfortunate, best of luck recovering the bike. Do you think that an airtag would have helped.

Thank you! An Airtag makes a sound if one starts moving the bicycle, hence, I am not sure if it could help - thief would just got rid of it. In my case bicycle was stored in a secured bicycle storage room, located in a secured residential parking in an estate with 24/7 physical security patrol and their check-point right next to the room. And it was secured with a Kryptonite chain right under CCTV. Thief came with a set of tools and spent 10-20 minutes trying to cut the lock. If it didn't help, I don't know what would.

15-20 minutes what on CCTV.. and wasn’t challenged?…😳… please tell me you had it insured?..

Here the police don't care much about stolen bicycles, "it's just a bicycle"...

I´ve put an airtag on mine as a precaution
But I removed the loudspeaker, which is what you do in these cases.
It greatly increases the likelihood of it being found in the first few hours.

Yes, that's what I would do in the future, if I decide to have another expensive bicycle in London, which does not sound safe.

I am actually pleasantly surprised by the police as they reached out to me, reviewed the CCTV and are asking for additional details (I wasn't expecting it to happen as when someone broke into my friend's house a few years ago, they closed the case on the next day after it happened despite having gathered a few fingerprints)

Nothing! The thief must have felt very comfortable to spent so much time.

Re airtags. Bike of a neighbor was stolen inhouse, he tracked it to a house in the nearby city, called the police who came but refused to enter the grounds of the multi appartement house. Maybe residence of a clan family……

Yes, I've heard similar stories unfortunately. The most recent one from a friend who got their macbook stolen in Italy. They tracked it to a detached house, but police did nothing.

London isnt safe,end of!

Something I would never expect to happen - the thief was caught by police, sent to court and sentenced for 5.5 years in custody for 6 burglary cases.

Bike was not recovered - as I understood he sold it quickly to get some cash for drugs

Also, Sundays insurance was very quick to respond to this claim, so can definitely recommend them (thief took both locks, but 1 piece of cut chain was left on the floor, so I am wondering how the claim would be processed if there was no evidence of broken lock left)
