Just got a Pivot Shuttle SL AM for my wife, and she did her first ride with me today on my eMTB - but she blew through the battery in eMTB+ mode and felt like she was hardly working at all.

She's only 104 lbs, so I'm sure the default assist profiles are way off and are designed for someone 170 lbs.

Any tips on a starting point for a 104 lb rider on a 43 lb bike with the SX motor?

I've been riding the SL/AM for 10 months, mostly along the Front Range of Colorado, so can discuss my experience with the Bosch SX. The first step is for her to start at the lowest setting, and step up only when she needs additional support. I weigh roughly 50% more than your spouse, but ride 92% of the miles in TOUR+ (according to the Bosch FLOW App). I only switch to the next level (SPORT) for moderate uphill, or when I'm trying to minimize my time on a highway between trails.

She can fine tune the support at each level using the FLOW app. If the bike was not delivered with the firmware update, that is easily done with a smart phone, and then the maximum torque can be boosted to 60 nM (although it seems she may not need it). If range is an issue, she could keep the max torque at 55 nM for TOUR+ to conserve battery charge, and push to 60 nM only as needed. On everday rides with elevation gain less than 1000 ft, I can get 30 miles from a fully charged battery.

Another aspect of the BOSCH SX she'll notice is that support increases with cadence. I find it very intuitive, as you pedal faster sprinting or climbing, and the motor responds accordingly.
