Hello,
Thinking about upgrading the motor to EP801.. since my bike overall still ticks all the boxes.
I'm wondering if it's possible to fit a 2nd gen Shimano battery (like the following one) into the old frame, using the new mounting bracket. Have the mounting screw holes changed in the newer frames using Ep801 motor? Has anyone ever tried this out?

Thanks
Ingo

It would be very helpful for readers if you would mention which drive unit type and battery type your bike is using currently...
So, I assume your bike currently is using the older DU-EP800 drive unit with an according "generation 1" battery.
Normally any bike manufacturer first decides which battery will be used for the bike and then the design of the bike frame will be done in order to fit the exact battery dimension. So normally it is next to impossible to interchange differnt battery types on the same bike, especially if the battery is an "internal" battery like the BT-EN806 which is covered inside the bike frame. Also, if you really somehow could manage to fit the new battery inside the frame, you still would need to interchange many Shimano STePS components on your bike, because a "generation 2" system, like the DU-EP801 needs a complete new electronic system, so mostly many components like display, control units, maybe an electronic derailleur as well as the complete cabling harness has to be replaced...
