Hey everyone

New to the forum here, just waiting on delivery of an 2026 Orbea Wild H20 as my first emtb. Having mountain biked for years I have been struggling maintaining fitness due to a young family/work and having some bulging disc issues, I finally bit the emtb bullet.

Grateful for any advice or words of wisdom, I appreciate all motors have issues but anything I can do to minimise the need to use the warranty would be welcome 😅. Based in the north east of England so lots of wet and grime to contend with.

Cheers

Jake

Welcome to the forum!

My only pieces of advice are:
* Don’t use a pressure washer when cleaning your bike.
* More important, spend as much time with your kids as possible. They grow up really quickly.

Regular maintenance. Keep it clean. Don't let shit build up. Dirt holds moisture. Regular usage. Learn to do basic service stuff yourself.

And as pointed out above. Water ingress is the biggest motor killer. So when cleaning, I use mist mode on the hose.

Hello & Welcome…🍺👍
Look after it… and it will look after you..
Clean regular… No jet wash… Good chain maintainence..
Cut your Bars down..!!!!
Comfy Seat….
Enjoy….

Thanks guys, just how I wash the normal bike then. @Gila Man I’m more concerned that my daughter is going to use this as an excuse To ask for an e-bike too😅. We currently ride matching yellow Nukeproofs together.

If she does ask, the correct answer is "Ok, but it's coming out of your inheritance". I learned it from my father-in-law. Whenever he would buy something, he'd thank each of his children for contributing 25% of the price from their future inheritance.😆

Thanks for the welcome everyone. Enjoying the bike so far, done around 100km on it.

Took a little while to find the right suspension pressures and get the tyres to seat tubeless, race face rims are absolute mush!
