Hi everyone is there any App or anything interesting UK 🇬🇧 that's shows bike trails along the canels or gravel trails. Live in Northampton, did an awesome ride from duston to Stoke Bruane for Breakfast on Sunday and the wife loved it so trying to find more trails like this for her.

Buy a OS 1:25,000 scale map (OS Explorer) of your area and look for Bridleways, you can cycle on them no probs. If you do buy an Explorer map then make sure that it has a code for a free Mobile download to your phone. Might be Explorer #223

Warning: used maps mostly have the Mobile download code used (they can be used once only).

I subscribe to Memory-Map and purchase OS 25k:1 and 50k:1 as a perpetual licence. Costs about £125 but gives you all of GB and you can install the app on mobile (6 concurrent licences I think). Not the cheapest purchase but when you consider that a single explorer map can be £12-14, soon pays for itself. You can then add GPX overlays downloaded from various sites as well as doing route planning & export to GPS / phone / Garmin / etc.
 
Have a look at Komoot. It's not perfect (but all the bike routing apps have some drawbacks) but you can generate routes based on a wide variety of cycling types/terrains. It will then also show you a gallery of photos of along the route so you can check the terrain is suitable. If there enough images for the area then it'll even show images for the time of year. Very handy as bridleways can be anything from flat gravel paths to boulder strewn slopes!
 
Another vote for Komoot from me. I use it to select an area I want to ride in and it shows rides that other users have previously done. You can specify the types of ‘way’ you want to ride on and optimise for gravel, MTB etc. As someone else has said, it’s not perfect but it’s pretty good

I really like cycle.travel - I had Komoot for a while but I found the navigation didn't work very well and I resented paying for maps. Cycle.travel navigation is superb, it shows all different types of routes/trails, it's really easy to plan routes, and it's free! I don't know if it shows other people's routes, I don't really care about that.
 
AllTrails and TrailForks. The latter is perhaps less useful for non-MTB stuff but still worth checking,
