I hope not. I didn't see any on the website small parts section and already emailed Troydon. From Crestline?
(IMO) It would be surprising to see it in a website small parts section because it is not (normally) a consumable item.I hope not. I didn't see any on the website small parts section and already emailed Troydon.

Kind of a strange thing to hope not.I hope not. I didn't see any on the website small parts section and already emailed Troydon.
Was hoping I could get one local or overnighted. If I have to wait for Crestline it will be a while. Not stoked on not riding.Kind of a strange thing to hope not.
Another dodgy option that could work is to get the next size up torx bit and hammer it in and undo, redo it up with that. Was hoping I could get one local or overnighted. If I have to wait for Crestline it will be a while. Not stoked on not riding.
I sold my "2nd" bike a few weeks ago and have a 181.2 arriving in 3-4 weeks. Bad timing. I might try your solution so I can still ride.Another dodgy option that could work is to get the next size up torx bit and hammer it in and undo, redo it up with that.
PS, No second bike? If one of my bikes isnt going i just pull the next one down and ride.........
Well if you don't explore all opportunites open to you, you might be un-stoked for quite a bit longer. Was hoping I could get one local or overnighted. If I have to wait for Crestline it will be a while. Not stoked on not riding.
Take the other side out (non stripped bolt) and bring to your lbs and see if they can match it. Quick internet search seems like it might be a relatively standard trunnion bolt. If there’s an issue getting the stripped one out buy a good quality ez out bit, irwin makes good stuff.I stripped the top Trunnion mounting hardward on my RS 181.1. This worked! Thank you!Another dodgy option that could work is to get the next size up torx bit and hammer it in and undo, redo it up with that.
This was the root cause of my issue. Lesson learned!Do yourself a favour and buy a set of good quality hex bits
Yeah, and blind bosses are freaken stupid too. Those damn trunion shocks are a recipe for disaster. They are fiddly as fuck to get the fastener in and cross threading could happen real easy. Then you have screwed ya shock too.Glad you got it out. I was going to suggest the torx trick too. If that didn’t work I would have suggested a stripped/brocken bolt extraction bit. And if that doesn’t work then you break out the dremel.
I absolutely hate aluminum bolts. It’s way too soft for Hardwear. Allen head especially regardless of the material. Torx are better but they still strip on occasion. Especially with some of the half sizes. Another really stupid option too.
Having said all that, if you strip an aluminum bolts/screw it’s better than stripping the insert threads.
I stripped some Aluminum hardware on my Ripmo and had to cut it off then use a tap to clean the steel threads back. 5 years going strong on that fix.
Not cheap, but a quality bit set that does what it says on the Hex-Plus description.Do yourself a favour and buy a set of good quality hex bits
