Finally the day has come for giving the ebike a go again.

Got a few plans this year where it has the potential to be very very useful indeed.

I've gone for lower power lower weight and Bosch motor. Although I'll probably add in the range extender for big days out.

Saw somewhere an offer under 3000 euro , lot of bike for less money!

I've used c2w which gives me 40% off it on top of the discounted prices. Although not as low as £3000 start price. I think its £3500 which means I'll pay £2000

Bargain , you have to buy 2 , for the price! Cool 😎

Hows the suspension on the R model?
Does it feel heavy for an SL?
How much range are you getting and in which modes?

Thanks

I run 36s on most bikes and Float Xs so they'll be familiar

No idea on range, only ordered it today

I have a question for those in the know, does it use the range extender first ? e.g If i'm lapping, can i go out first with the extender fitted, then once that's done and we're onto main battery, drop the extender back in the van and carry on with the lighter weight ?

No, in short. When the RE is fitted it becomes one large 650wh battery and they deplete together. I had wondered this too, but sadly not.

That's a bit of a shame, some reddit posts implied on some RE you can select the operation in that context

I’ve not seen that being an option. It was one of the reasons I was erring on a Trek Fuel eXE as you can do that, and can just run it on the RE so you could, in theory, remove the main battery from the bike, put the RE in hand luggage and then fly with the bike leaving the main battery at home. Perfect for alps trips etc.

Ah, maybe it was a different make/model of RE then yeah. If the cards fall nicely this year we'll be in the Alps from June to Sept, which is one of the reasons for getting the bike in the first place.

All the 2025+ mondraker's feel great in the lower specs. Their rear suspension kinematics are extremely good, and have a habit of making lower spec components work very well.

Well in the end this was cancelled by me, although at times on Sat at Forest of Dean i was regretting that decision a bit :D

I'm still not against an Ebike as such... but i'm still not 100%.
