• Warning!!

Riding a tuned or deristricted EMTB is not a trivial offence and can have serious legal consequences. Also, many manufacturers can detect the use of a tuning device or deristricting method and may decline a repair under warranty if it was modified from the intended original specification. Deristricting EMTB's can also add increased loads for motors and batteries. Riding above the local law limit may reclassify the bike as a low-powered bike, requiring insurance, registration and a number plate.

Be aware of your local country laws. Many laws prohibit use of modified EMTB's. It is your responsibility to check local laws. Ignoring it, has potential implications to trail access, and risk of prosecution in the event of an accident.

Has any one tried the NLS Speedi planetary gear on a Gen 4 CX Smart System?
Keen to hear if anyone ran into issues of the motor detecting it and whether Volspeed V2 would be the better option?

As far as I know, neither system will have correct odomoeter and speed reading, so the only advantage Volspeed has is that it can go above 1.5x speed (which is nice but unecessary for me).

Something I am also interested in knowing. did you follow through Jeff?
I ended up with Volspeed.

What I learnt is that with the mechanical derestriction like the NLS it will eventually and inevitably lead to an error code because of Bosch’s detection algorithm.

Can i ask how the Volspeed is going? How many KMs you've done and your type of riding (Consistent speeds, up down), do you use flow app without issues. Thanks :) Volspeed or Poland US region change look like the best options.

I only got it recently, done about 500km so far.

I use it commuting into work, and I set the limit to 35km.

I uninstalled the flow app just in case.

So far no issues.

Thanks for the feedback, I will most likely do what you did! Also somewhat hijacking this thread so I can bump my post numbers up being a newbie ;). Please continent to provide updates on this post with your distances. How is your commute, you up and down the whole ride or pretty much cruising 35khm?

There’s about 180m of elevation or so and each way is about 20km.

Also I havent updated to the latest firmware. I m still on 15.24 I think

Awesome, that's pretty decent and consistent i would imagine. I am yet to get my bike so will be new firmware I imagine which volspeed is yet to confirm If it works with.
