Hi everybody,
First post here - so please bear with me
I'm looking to buy my first eMTB - and the choice has come to two models in the title.
My expectations/needs from the bike - I do road cycling mostly, so the power/fitness is relatively decent - so I can pedal. For the trails I would be doing both 120mm travel is enough, range wise 1000m altitude should be enough for most of the rides. My expectations is not the eBike that would fly uphill, but provide steady push uphill. Bike would also be used by my wife - she is lightweight and has relatively limited cycling experience.
How I see the pros/cons
BMC (TQ HRP50, 360Wh, 50nm, 120mm travel) - I like the XC geometry, is lightweight 16.5kg - TQ motor support should be solid enough for me, not sure how it would handle my wife, as she is 50kg and her watts are likely close to her weight
Range should suffice; On the downside - TQ and BMC have virtually no local presence in my country - so in case anything gets bad with motor/battery that might be an exhausting/costly experience
Orbea (Shimano EP6, 630Wh, 60-85nm, 140mm travel) - I'm liking the bike as well - not sure if I need the 140mm travel, though perhaps my wife would find it a bit more comfy. Motor support here is going to be more than enough 60/85nm - don't know if this motor (Shimano EP6) would be a better suited for my wife needs - bigger battery would also provide a bit more range flexibility (though not a primary concern). Orbea/Shimano has solid local presence and service support - so if I encounter problems, more likely I will get decent support. As cons are concerned - it's mostly considerations about the weight Orbea is 20kg - still a lot lighter than full size eMTBs, but also heavier than BMC - if somebody rode smth similar in weight to this two bikes, I would highly appreciate your feedback.
So this is it - many thanks for any feedback.
Cheers.
Alen
