Do the shops that are authorized to do Shimano warranty and repairs have different tools than your average home mechanic can buy. Example would be plugging your laptop into the bike instead of using the phone app. I like to do my own maintenance and do not mind spending on tools. I looked at the info on the sm - pce02, but it does not seem to do much more than the mobile app. Is there any thing else? It seems like there are quite a few settings to set if you wanted to replace a motor. I have a newer ebike with ep8, so no problems so far, but some of my eeb buddies with older bikes sure seem to get put through the ringer with motor issues. Like to do my own stuff so just curios.
