Kenevo sizing advice...6’1/2...Large or XL?

Hi. Apologies if this has already been answered but I am new to the forums and have searched for an answer re Kenevo sizing but haven’t quite found what I’m looking for. I’m about to pull the trigger on a Kenevo next week (super excited ) but unsure which size to get. I’ve owned various Enduro’s and Santa Cruz’s etc in the past and have always ridden a large but tempted by an XL Kenevo. I’m 6’1 and a bit and really keen to hear from owners of a similar size and what they did. Thanks in advance!

You're definitely in the L/XL area so it really does depend on you. I am a little over 6'2" and I bought the XL after riding both the L and XL, @Donnie797 is a similar size to us and has an XL and both of us are stoked with the choice. However @Dax is 6' 3" and has a L, as he prefers them, so there is definitely an element of personal preference.
For me, a L isn't long enough in the top tube area and I find myself sitting too far back on the saddle.

Thanks . That’s super helpful. In the past I’ve always liked my bikes on the small/chuckable side but just wasn’t sure how the Kenevo measures up. Thinking I’ll be riding it a fair bit more than the other 170/180mm bikes i’ve had in the past so hence wondering whether to go up a size just for a bit of added room/comfort. Think I’ll try and go check both sizes in a shop next week so I can see for myself. Thanks again and super looking forward to hitting the trails

That's definitely the right approach, ride them both, there is hardly anything in it in my humble opinion. I am also used to throwing a MTB around, but you can almost forget that with the EMTB regardless of L or XL, it's a different beast wrt chucking it about like before. For instance I was on a trail about five hours ago, blasting towards and large-ish puddle on the trail, went to simply bunny hop over it and ploughed straight through it, the extra weight catches me out now and again, but i'm getting used to it.

That’s a very good point. Hadn’t factored that in! I did have a Santa Cruz bullet that was over 40 pounds that I used as a trail bike for a year or so but obviously this will be approx 10 pounds more so different ball game. I’ve never ridden an emtb before so looking forward to getting out and riding a bunch of trails with killer climbs more than once without it killing me

I'm 5'11 with 34,25" inseam and the Kenevo L is a bit on the big side for me. Well, it's the seat tube that is too big, the frame isn't very long for an L. Size L has got a 125mm dropper, and I havent got that much seatpost showing. I believe the XL has got a 150mm dropper, so depending on your leg length, the XL may be too big.

As above, I'm 6'3 and ride a large, but most of my height is in my body, according to my levis I have a 32" inside leg. I've always preferred slightly smaller frames after growing up riding DH, but the large levo feels like the perfect size for everything I've thrown it at.

Today I hit a gap jump I've not had the nerve to hit before, I love the confidence it gives you.

I'm 6'3" and exactly the same 32" inseam and BTW also riding a size L Levo and the bike fits me perfectly.

Damn. Making me definitely think i need a large now! As said before, always ridden large for the reasons you mention. I’ll also be doing some 20 milers with a friend. Presumably you have no worries on that front and comfy enough for long rides? Really appreciate all the advice by the way.

@davegixer i took the L size (with 1,83m), it has nearly the same reach than my other bike and i’m feeling very well on it. Especially if you’re between the sizes it comes down to personal preference and of course different body geometries (leg length / upper body length).

I'm 6ft, but all legs - the large feels spot on. I think an XL would have been too big

Absolutely, you won't have any complaints on that front. I did 36 miles yesterday.

I'm same height 6'1/2, Jeans 34", ride the XL Kenevo.
Perfect reach for me, plenty of space to move around and feel really well 'sat in' the bike.
Dropper is down on the seat tube and I rarely use it at full extension.
Will at some stage change the dropper for one with less stack, other than that it feels perfect you will absolutely luv the bike, guaranteed!! It does everything.

I regularly put 20 miles and 2500ft on mine, no issues

I’m 6.2 and find the large Spot on

I ride a Medium Kenevo and at 5'9" I'm no where near a tall as you but when buying a bike the measurements I pay most attention to are Reach and Standover Height. The Kenevo is based on the Enduro geometry. Its a big bike with a relatively big standover measurement. Make sure that you can throw a leg over the top tube and still comfortably reach the ground. With respect to reach, ensure the bike is not too long otherwise you will not be able to get your weight over the front wheel which will result in handling problems. Best advice I can give is to find a shop that has a Demo Fleet or attend a Specialized Demo Day so you can try all your size options on an actual trail before you buy.

No Problem @Superlukey. If you are familiar with the 2014 to 2016 Enduro 29er geometry then its pretty much large Enduro 29er = large Kenevo 6Fattie. Other wheel sizes and year models will have slightly different geometries and thus the direct size relationship may not necessarily apply.

6’2” 34” inseam and I chose the Large. I come from a BMX and DH background and I just prefer a more flickable frame size. Also a large is faster sell when I get rid of it

6ft 1, went for got q large and love it, found the reach on the xl bang on but the seat stack too high to be the point it affected confidence descending

First things first, I just want to say a big thanks to all who provided sizing advice. It was super helpful and greatly appreciated. In the end I went with a large Kenevo Expert in black and it fits me like a glove.

I've actually had the bike for two weeks now but have been so busy riding it lol that it has taken me this long to reply. The bike is amazing and just means I am riding way more than before and finding new trails. I have been using it 90% of the time in eco mode and only using trail/turbo mode for the really steep stuff. I did a 25 miler yesterday and only used 40% of battery (1,200 ft of climbing). On a course without silly amounts of hills, I think I should be able to squeeze 50 miles out of it. Finding that a high cadence really hels preserve battery life.

Damn, i'll go with 6"2' at Large too. Found one still remaining 2019 Kenevo size Large for sale,although its all gone everywhere! Will try to get it now )
