is not needed to pair or activate the new motor, just calibration for proper assist but it won't make an error if you dont calibrate. If even with a new motor unit the app show there is an error probably there is an issue with cable/connector or the issue is in the smart-gateway. A good Giant...

the new E-system 2.0 can work on 36v and 48v systems. 48v system will be only for high performance bikes as the new Reign, future Trance, etc. New Stance or Explore can work with old integrated energy packs...500, 625 or 800wh. These two bikes use the new e-system 2.0, same as Reign. Talon...

That connector is managed by the Giant system, so you will need to assign a button on the RideControl Ergo 3 to turn the light on and off. The 2026 models are already out. Only the new Stance E+ will be released in the first quarter of the year. The new Trance E+ will be a 2027 model; nothing is expected before July or August at earliest.
