I agree. I'm tired of hearing about the fantastic power of the avinox while every thread about unlocking the stupid speed limiter is proceeded with urgent warnings. How about a warning before every Avinox page that the bike and the app are sending your personal information to china where they...
I kind of regret updating the software because it does have more power than i need 99% of the time, and so i have to turn down the assist to get the feel and battery life i had before. I will say that i loved the extra power when it came to steep climbs and roads in class 3. It is easy and fun...
Excellent summary Greg, i like your style.
I think you may have made one important mistake with this line. "if you're going to strap a 1,500W-capable Austrian rocket to a carbon frame"...Just so you know, Avinox is a Chinese company and a spin off from DJI the drone manufactuer.
So they are all...
Here's what worked for me. Turn bike upside down with battery installed. Take off the bash guard. The battery nest adjustment bolts are underneath. The bash guard bolt also holds the nest so that is tightened last. The nest is held in place on just one side of the frame so you can imagine it...
No question it is unnecessary, but although a race has never been won based on shifting, i'm sure it has been lost.
during hard braking, having it shift down at the same time might be helpful. I find i'm often in the wrong gear in those situations where you cant hang on, steer, brake and shift...
I'm sure they are working on it. hopefully next year. Although i would like all the auto shift features to play with, i don't think alot of people are asking for it and i dont think it works well enough for serious mountain biking yet. I think to make it work properly the system will need to be...
I did a short ride and didnt feel any major differences. I do have a noise when the walk mode starts as well, sounds like the sprag clutches winding up. On the other hand, the motor did seem more quiet while riding. Need a longer ride but conditions are terrible around here.
People hung up on the stock chainstay number so they change it imeadiatly and then wonder why the front feels heavy and is pushing. Lenghening the stays, lowers the BB significantly and steepens the head angle. Sure those guys better riders and i havent tried all the bikes, but not testing it...
There is no real money in selling and repairing bikes. My LBS buddy said profit is generated with sales of parts and accessories. Tubes tires t-shirts. and yes hard to beat online shopping with free shipping so that has taken a toll.
Trek can't even keep a store open and most my LBS's are part...
Sounds like the typical battery/nest connection problem and wire pinch in the hot shoe cable.
There are other threads on this but intermittent power surges is probably the battery nest. They have a new nest but people still having problems so do your best to reseat it carfeully and add...
My buddy had big problems with his gen 3 and was relentless on the phone with specialized and got a brand new gen 4 no charge. I have seen specialized help out many people with questionable warrany claims even on second hand bikes so if you get through to the right person they should pull through.
I think the main problem here is, in general , LBS mechanics don't have the experience or the time to find the problems and fix them correctly the first time. People who have a little problem and dont even try to fix it and take it directly to the shop are asking for more problems. If i relied...
I had a problem with the hot shoe from day one and found the wire was pinched when the motor was installed.
I put in a warranty claim back in april and got the hot shoe no problem but the splitter cable took longer and is the hard one to get.
