Certainly makes sense, the freehub looks fine, but it is really quiet, so I don't know if I'd be able to tell if it was stuck. I've managed to rescue the cassette, and double/triple checked I've fitted it correct and to the correct torque, so I'll try and listen out on the next ride. So...

Thats really interesting, is that something thats happened to yourself? If so, was there anything obviously wrong with the free-hub body? Mine feels absolutely fine and it wasn't caked in grease or anything.

It was a false alarm with the motor, turns out the cassette had managed to undo itself (xd driver) and was binding up against the derailleur hanger. It never even crossed my mind that this would even be possible as it has never happened to me before with decades of using shimano cassettes, but...
