So I've experimented with friends riding Specialized eMTBs. We ride together and ride the same terrain, at the same power setting. My bike engine shuts down. Theirs does not. Need we say more -- it is NOT riding style that matters here.
really appreciate the diagnostic data you're offering. Thank you.
I've been told my Trance X E+ shuts off during riding due to overheating. But none of the friends I ride with (on Specialized Bikes) have this problem. And we're riding the same trails together. So this is a GIANT issue.
2022 Trance X Advanced E+ 2 randomly shuts off?
This is the string many of us have been talking on. It's the random Shut Off on the 2022 Giant eMTBs. Could you please describe your problem on that other link. IF we're all on the same string then we'll get more consolidated information to share...
Thanks for the info Babahawk. It would seem constructive for us all to collate the list of symptoms, diagnoses and assorted fixes related to our common problem -- sudden motor shutdown on what would seem to be normal mountain biking conditions. Still hard for me to believe it's an "overheat"...
My "overheat" problem has not been resolved. We performed the GIant diagnostic's (program) twice and found no errors or sensor problems. I was told the software patch to address "My problem" would be coming very soon. That was weeks ago. I have not heard anything.
So what I've been told is that a software patch is coming out to address the "overheating threshold" issue. Have not yet seen that patch. And we have to question if you raise some threshold in the software -- so it wont' shut off -- then are the components of the bike motor / battery going to...
Just reported a similar problem on my 2022 Trance X E+ (the string about GIANT 2022 Trance shutting down). My bike was bought over summer. Has very few miles on it. And riding it up a relatively steep gravel grade it crapped out and shut down. Check out my other posting about this. NOW I've...
Since the second time I have not yet had it happen. But I have been restrained in my choice of rides too. When I reported it to Giant Warranty service they said a new software patch is coming that will address that "overheat threshold" problem. I have not yet seen that patch.
Okay, I've joined eMTB to talk about this problem. I bought my 2022 Giant Trance X E+2 over summer. After just a few good rides, I was about 1.5 hour into the back country, on a nice morning, riding my bike up a relatively steep gravel road. And that's when it happened the first time. The top...
