What's next for Marin and EMTB's?

Here is an example - The exact same riding venue (Bike Park Wales), one with only 1 battery (top image) and the other with two batteries (bottom image) One battery : 7 runs in 5hrs 50mins Two batteries : 10 runs in 5hrs 43mins If you're paying £100 to ride and driving 5 hours, which one would...

What's next for Marin and EMTB's?

I do ! Having a removable battery means you can ride for much longer, nearly all day in a medium power mode, or a bit less in a higher power mode. [With a second battery] What’s the point in spending £7k to £12k+ on an eMTB with a motor which provides industry leading power & torque, if your...

What's next for Marin and EMTB's?

To be fair to Marin, the lighter bikes are 1.5x to 2.5x more expensive. My Trek Rail weighs 26kg (58lbs) with a rear coil spring, gravity tyres and Mallet E clip pedals, which isn't so much a problem for me, but if I'm upgrading my sons Rail (he's still growing fast) then it's approaching half...

What's next for Marin and EMTB's?

The weight of this @ 26.2kg makes it easily the heaviest eMTB on thier test, by 2 to 4 KG's. : 2026 eMTB Shootout | 15 Bikes go Head-to-Head Be interesting to see what they have to say about the bike. The video is the next one due to drop, maybe tomorrow.

    DH World Cup thread

Oher sports don't have multiple people coming down the same track at the same time. The comparison would be 'watching tennis' tuning in to watch a match whilst missing all of the other matches going on at the same time.

    DH World Cup thread

Exactly - there are 2 to 4 riders on track at the same time. There would need be 4 screens playing at once to show every run, which gets complicated to comment to and follow. The coverage has actually improved since 10-20+ years ago. They have so many more cameras now. This year is going to...

Who actually wants more than 85nm and 400%

In my experience it's the race track which shows the driving skills. A good driver in a Mini can still smoke a noob in a Ferrari Same with riding bikes - when the trail points down it doesnt matter how much power your motor is putting out, if you can't ride it then it shows! 💡 As for the new...

    Stone the heretic. Unpopular opinions

100% agree ! Pointless having a long travel Avinox system bike, with mega power you can't use for the session uplifts, for fear of waiting around for 2+ hours to get riding again. Might as well get an analogue DH bike and use the uplift for 5+ years with the money you saved.

What are the best Bosch gen 5 bikes with a 800wh battery (or should I just go Avinox)?

The Trek Rail+ features Bosch Gen 5, and a 800Wh battery which is removeable. Currently some are on sale, so the prices are great too ! e.g. Rail+ 9.7 : Carbon Frame, Zeb Fork : £4.6k Rail+ 9.8 : AXS or XT drive train, Fox Performance Elite Fork & Shock : £6k Would be my choice currently ...

Avinox launch 1500w M2S motor and cheaper M2 motor

Selective reading  You missed/skipped past the first part of my post where I mentioned riding up technical 33% climbs 💡 Sure, I tow my son up the easy trails, but the not the harder/steeper stuff, as he will be on his ebike for these, instead of his DH bike, or we use uplifts at the...
