Hi,
Lot of text follows. Sorry :)
Quick backstory: I'm pretty fit but also a big guy (6'2, 200lbs), mostly ride local trails (e.g. 1300m total elevation over 35km) on my 2020 S-works Gen1 Levo SL with an extender in Turbo (although usually I'll do a shorter ride of 800m over 25km on Eco/Trail...
Weird question - can anyone who already has it measure the *height* of the reservoir decal on the Float X? I want to order decals (I hate this orange FOX logo) ahead of time from slik - is the reservoir decal 28.5mm or 34.5mm? Preferably on the S4 size. Thank youuu
Welp, I pulled the trigger. I actually only use 35 or 50% of the motor power so hoping I get a small range bump going to 25/40% on the new (reviews said it is more effective than the old one), but the DPS, the 150mm fork and the steeper geometry on my 2020 SL were always things that prevented me...
I'm debating whether to change my 2020 Levo SL (bought it in 2021 but it was heavily discounted). Maybe you guys can help me out?
I don't really need a stronger motor, but I feel like the shock upgrade (DPS to Float X), a 160mm fork, the Mullet setup, the shorter chainstay and slacker head tube...
Do you remember whether you liked it for the SL? As mentioned, I'm feeling that the DPS is just not enough for me - I'm over 200lbs, ride fast with a lot of harsh/chattery and natural terrain (rocks/roots). Changing my fork from 34 to 36 did wonders for me (I kept 150mm though) I don't jump, but...
Were you able to fit the range extender / water bottle with it? I am planning this change in the Large frame - there are no DPX2 available anymore and I feel beeing over 200lbs and riding fast is a bit too much for the DPS.. SO maybe the X2?
Hi,
Has anyone managed to fit in the new Float X to the 2020/2021 Levo SL frame? I have the 2020 sworks model that I use with a water bottle and sometimes the range extender and was wondering if there's any chance of fitting the Float X with its reservoir?
Thanks
That's what I thought.. I don't do anything that gnarly and I'm sure I will see much more benefit of a 36 stanchion vs the 34 compared to couple mms offset difference.
Thank you!
Hey everyone. Thanks for the tips and suggestions. I'm ready to pull the trigger on a 36 FOX 150mm.. I found one, unused, in matte black (I know, it's ridiculous but I actually appreciate the matte design of the bike and not sure I want to go with a shiny one..)
However- the offset on the fork...
It's an L-size. I also am thinking of getting the Fox 36 GRIP2 160mm 51mm offset as I can get a crazy deal on it right now.. Only thinking if 160mm won't change the geometry too much? Will likely do the fork first and then the shock if I still feel I could use it..
Seen much improvement with...
So does the X2 210x55 interfere with the water bottle on the Levo SL? Trying to understand if the new Float X 210x52.5 will fit with the battery extender/ water bottle in..
