I’d vote for the Bullit. It’s basically a burlier Vala, unless you don’t ride really steep chunky stuff.. I personally have a Heckler SL and. Bullit. I like both a lot. But if it was only going to be one it would be the Bullit. But riding the Heckler is a nice experience too. Great going...

My Apple Ultra has gone off many times when pulling my bike out the back of the van.. The time I fell ten ft thru space and landed on a pointy rock and broke my hip and femur. Nada! Luckily i was conscious and called myself.. strange

Will work great anywhere . For flatter terrain Id just use less agressive tires. But if you arent riding downhill and gnar fast at all maybe a different bike is more appropriate to the task

Soooo many of the bikes i see on here seem sooooooo CLEAN! Mine has a dusty appearance even after I rinse it off. I just rinse and clean the drivetrain and suspension

I have a large Bullit and was able to slam a 225 AXS dropper. I think bullit and Vala are fairly similar

A bit heavier than the stock 38 because it’s a coil for one thing. But I coiled my 38 too

I did tell her it cost more than the van I drive it around in ;)
