I think this maybe the trick here, don't download the app and don't do updates and how will Bosch ever know? I'm no tech wizard but my guess is this is how 504 errors are occurring. Sneaky anti tamper detection by making everything 'smart', but imagine if you want to ride your bike legally...

It is pretty shameful of the industry not to provide better protection down there in the first place, especially for the cost we pay for these bikes. It's like the want our motors break! Oh wait, this is the age of planned obsolescence, of course that's what they want.
