    DIY - Custom range extender

I know this reply is a few months late, but it requires a response. As you're aware the protection box's you linked to are simply two ideal diodes in a fancy case. They work wonderfully for DIY ebike builds (bafang motors etc) that use basic battery setups. They will not and do not work for any...

    DIY Wheelset - DT XM421 KOOZER450

Where did you get your spokes? That's a very good price! Nice to see another person using the Koozer hubs, I've used to 390 and 450 for several wheel builds now and found them excellent.

A charger does this perfectly well. Charge both packs up, connect them. You can't use a dedicated discharging circuit to match (not balancing, it is important to differentiate) the packs by discharging a Bosch battery as you can't turn the pack on to do so. Connecting a fully charged pack with a...

    DIY - Custom range extender

Some useful information there, and some very dubious information/recommendations. Did you use AI to come up with this? Could you please demonstrate using suitable calculations how using a resistor to equalise a pack for a few seconds would be helpful?

    DIY - Custom range extender

OK, so I've made myself an external pack that functions perfectly. But it hasn't been without some minor hiccups and it is NOT foolproof. In other words, you WILL damage something in a very expensive way if you don't pay strict attention to charge levels etc. So. I've made a pack with M58T...

Can you build your own battery for the E10 ?

Not without stripping the battery down, sorry. It's literally a flat 2.5mm thick alloy plate with 4 inserts fitted.

Trek rail rear shock upgrade ideas please

Image nicked from TF Tuned. This should explain it.

Trek rail rear shock upgrade ideas please

Yes that was the idea, then I could use any 205 x 57.5 trunnion shock I liked - as long as the piggy back clears the frame. As it turns out I got a great deal on a 230mm jade x so bought that instead. I needed some heavy shim work to feel right though.

Trail Watts starts testing Range Extender for Bosch.

At least people with the smart system have an option. I have a gen 4 non-smart equipped bike and there is nothing available. Hopefully the package trailwatts comes up with will fit in the frame triangle of a trek rail.

Trail Watts starts testing Range Extender for Bosch.

Amazing work, really excited for this as it'll open up some truly epic rides on my Rail.

Trail Watts starts testing Range Extender for Bosch.

I know the last post is from over a year ago, but did you get anywhere with this booster setup on the bosh gen 4 system?

    DIY - Custom range extender

This is the exact solution I was hoping to do for my Rail. Except using 10x 21700 cells. So, a year after posting, how are you getting on with this DIY range extender? Are there any issues you've found around error messages or charging as one unit on the bike with the Bosch charger?

When will someone put out a 52v emtb

Because garbage ebikes don't ride like a proper 'enduro' sled. The bikes with piddling drive units are still bicycles at heart, with all the trail shredding capability that comes with a regular bike, just with some extra nudge to get you back to the top. Try riding a decent line on a crappy 3kw...

When will someone put out a 52v emtb

A Suron is in no way an e-bike, it's an electric motorcycle. Whoever bought those kids a silent 60mph electric motorcycle to knowingly go hacking around the estate on should be locked up.

When will someone put out a 52v emtb

You already have the option. If you want an EMTB there are plenty to choose from, likewise if you want a high powered bike for use on private land. If you want an electric motorcycle there are also plenty to choose from. The last thing we need is morons rocking up to Halfords and getting their...
