I'm 5'8" and ride the alloy 2022 rail 9 in a medium, it did feel a little short coming from a Trek LT9 M/L sized bike to begin with.
Totally used to it now and love it in the tighter stuff over the larger LT9.
My step dad sold his 2017 Powerfly 5 for $3800 a couple of weeks ago, paid about $4700 for it new.
Sold my 2019 LT9 for $4500, could have got a fair bit more but sold it to a friend. I bought it as an ex hire bike mid 2020 and I believe they sold for $8100 New.
The 2nd hand market is great for...
To give you a rough idea on battery usage on a 22 Rail 9 my last ride was 55km, 1100m elevation gained using mainly tour with about 20% eco and battery is down to 40%.
3 hours moving time, add another hour of talking sh!t.. I'm finding the battery lasts well and truly long enough for me
Talking to my lbs today about these modes, I quite liked tour mode on my 2019 LT9 but find tour mode on the 2022 rail 9 (tour + I gather) gives a bit much assistance. There is a big gap between eco and tour +
Next time I have the bike at the shop I'll have them load the old tour mode, 5 minute...
My 22 Rail 9 has a few mm back and forth play, and also an annoying rattle while seated riding over bumps. When standing it doesn't do it. I initially blamed the lock mechanism.
After a little more digging I think it is something in the seat/dropper post making the noise. Riding over rough ground seated I hear it, while standing - nothing. There is a bit of play back and forward in the dropper/seat. Bike is due for 1st service so I will have the bike shop investigate.
My 19' LT9 used to lose power all the time, but had it fixed at lbs under warranty. The other issue I had was the noisy lock, it sounded like there was a plastic bead rattling around inside above the battery.
I now ride a 2022 Rail 9 (alloy) and it has the same rattle, its the metal locking tap...
I picked up an alloy version a month ago, big upgrade to my older 2019 LT9. Everything is better, but I will say I liked the XT brakes on the LT9 over the Code R on the Rail.
