Also the black electronic section on the torque sensor has snapped free of where it fits around the metal rib. There is significant rotation of the shaft and black piece. Does anyone know if this is an issue?

The Bafang M510 (also known as the MM G522.250.C) is widely praised for its performance, but it has a known "Achilles' heel" regarding its internal wiring and moisture management.
Your experience with the failing power/sensor board is a documented issue in the e-bike community...
Failure time again. On this breakdown I noticed that all the failed boards have corrosion on the same pins. "vcc" and "sl" as far as I can tell. The vcc pin is called "key" on some of the boards.
Has anyone any tips on how to protect these pins for the next rebuild? I'll be fitting a new...
And then there were 4. Original was stamped V1.3 and lasted the longest, about 6 months. First replacement was stamped V1.2 and latest a few months. Second replacement was stamped V1.1 and lasted one spin! And now the third replacement is marked V1.3. They were all about €38 on AliExpress...
Ok, so shes back working for now 🤞 🤞 🤞 🤞 🤞
I replaced the power board and she fired right up. AliExpress purchase. Battery is charging in the background.
I also got a new cable but didn't use it as the original has added sealing behind the block. New cable had none.
The battery still...

I went with a 13mm socket (I couldn't find a half inch socket to hand) and turned it back to just over 17.4mm.
3/8s drive socket. Half inch drive won't fit the top left bolt .
Wow there's been so much info added to this since I started it. Unfortunately ours is now acting up again. I must catch up on all the AliExpress purchases to refresh the boards etc.
Question about dropping the motor:
What are the using to undo the nut closest to the chain stay? A very slim...
Nope we never sent it back. She still has it. It just started mysteriously working again and hasn't happened since. I explained in more detail above somewhere. I suspect either something was wet or the battery went into some sort of sleep mode.
Battery is blue now. So your guess might be correct. I'm half wondering did something get wet and did it need time to dry out. No idea.
It's my girlfriends bike so I don't know if the fork is any good. She can't tell the difference to be honest so it should do her for awhile. Her Ohlins on her...
