Update on my friend's 2023 Reign E+2 that was finally brought in to the Giant store to fix this issue (L2 flashing, no power, must power off and on for a temporary fix)
Giant inspected the motor in their HQ in BC and they told the motor had an internal communication error issue that can't be...
That Giant UK guy above is completely clueless on recommending 203mm max rear rotor size when Giant are speccing 220MM F&R on the 2024 Reign E+1.
There's no way Giant would deny a warranty claim for that reason when they're doing it from the factory.
I'll be on my 3rd season with a 220mm SRAM...
Got rid of my AXS derailleur & AXS dropper post after experiencing issues and issues, installed a new mechanical drivetrain for peace of mind & reliability, I'm done with AXS stuff for now. That GX AXS derailleur was also loud as hell and I prefer the quietness of the mechanical one that is not...
Had to warranty a Reverb AXS two times and GX AXS two times also. Reverb is just a mess own it's on own by design and GX AXS had the parallelogram come loose (bushing play) causing poor shifting or ghost shifts. Their warranty is pretty good however as they send new components in retail boxes...
After having issues and issues with AXS components, went to my local bike shop to get a full X01 mechanical drivetrain installed.
Shop did XX1 cassette & chain for the same price which was pretty nice.
Only took a picture of the cassette.
I saw some 2024 models at the bike shop and there was no sign of a new aluminum model. Giant finally ditched Live Valve and the E+0 doesn't exist anymore (at least in Canada).
Elite E+1 was specced with Factory Fox suspension and GX T-Type drivetrain, model was carbon black and 500$ cheaper vs...
Mine did not even last two full seasons, parallelogram was loose and derailleur was sometimes shifting in a weird manner or doing ghost shifts.
First gen AXS Eagle derailleurs are also very loud when riding enduro, DH or rough tracks as the body of the derailleur is flopping around.
However...
1. What is your average ride length (time or distance)? 30km / 1200m
2. What size is your battery? 800wh
3. Does your average ride consume all of your charge? Yes, 0-10% left
4. Do you let your motor do as much of the work as possible or do your legs contribute fairly? A little bit too much...
It is strange to read such bad experiences when the warranty service from Giant here in Canada is exceptional.
I used their warranty two times this summer and both claims were accepted same day with parts / bike repaired within a week.
If there's was a discount on the 2023 clearly it was the better option, spec is pretty much even 23 vs 24.
I posted 2024 models above, main difference for the 2024 E+2 is that it comes with Fox 38 Rythm Fork & CUES drivetrain vs ZEB Select & SLX drivetrain for 2023.
If you have a discount on...
