Yep, letting the Edge track your power input from the Trek sensor only leads to falsified data.

If you are hoping it will help get the bike up difficult, steep and/or tight terrain, you will be massively disappointed.
I‘m pretty sure it was not tested for that as it really is not great.

Whilst it does appear to be the wrap, if it was my bike and I had dependents, I would peel that piece of wrap (or cut out just that section) and ‚know for sure‘ as opposed to only ‚guessing‘.
Are you getting a warranty for the swap? I was told (through my LBS) that there is no warranty offered by Trek Germany.
Also, €1750 for the motor alone.
