I own 3 Lapierre’s, 2 carbon and an alloy Overvolt, never had an issue and have been riding and racing them since 2010.
my Overvolt had switch issues but the third one seems to have done the trick.

If you shift under load or power you will go through chains and has others have said, cassettes too with 12spd at anything over .5 worn. Back off the gas a bit as you change and you’ll get way more life from both.

Mine stoped turning on after a week and was replaced under warranty and is now doing the same thing, seems it doesn't like damp weather or water anywhere near it, pretty useless for a eMTB in the UK!
