Thanks, I am trying to learn as much as I can. I have taken the broken charger to an electronics engineer to see if he can find out what has blown and if it can be prevented.
The inverter I use is not a cheap Chinese one, it Epever and was specifically put in so I could charge e bikes.
Regarding Giant chargers. Mine failed so I took it in and the first thing the shop asked me if had I used an inverter to charge the bike. I have just installed a big system on my camper just so I can charge off grid. Seems the Giant chargers don't like inverters as the owner of the shop also...

I had a creak and it was coming from the bearing in the chainstay where the axle goes through. The bearings were rough and after replacing them it turned out to be where the bearings are housed in the chain stay the holes were oval.

Is this something you are selling? I am in Auckland and buying another battery or range extender is very expensive and hard to find. It would be great to have when you decide to do a long ride.
Just joined the thread about your creaking. Have you had it sorted. I have a similar noise and found the bearings in the chain stay were binding. Took it in and they replaced them but it seems the chain stay holes are too small and when the bearings are pressed in they bind up. Has to be bad...
