Vitus E-Mythique LT Enduro EMTB - Bargain of the year

Nice one. The idea of being able to convert the E-Mythique to a 750w 48v M560 is one reason that I bought one.

Vitus E-Mythique LT Enduro EMTB - Bargain of the year

I guess you can get warranty direct with Bafang for their components and Rockshox, Suntour, SRAM etc for theirs if you have to. All Vitus supply is the frame & hubs. I've seen frames for under £200 on eBay already & I've never had a sturdily built alloy frame fail by itself - it's been me...

Vitus E-Mythique LT Enduro EMTB - Bargain of the year

Well, I pulled the pin & got the VRX for £2430. Along with a spare loom. I wanted a VR & was gonna upgrade the fork but they'd sold out (at £1800). I've got Magura MT5s to go on it & some Hope wheels & Maxxis tyres. I really don't want 12spd so I'll sell the drivetrain along with the wheels...

Bearing Man - just out of interest, why do so many Shimano motors seem to fail? Is it just water ingress or something more?

Vitus E-Mythique LT Enduro EMTB - Bargain of the year

E Mythique is now 38% or 39% off at CRC. Plus another 10% off with the code EXTRA10. So the VRX is now £2430 , the VRS is £2160 and the VR was £1800 but think it's out of stock...

That's really useful. Thanks. Hadn't thought about the car rack. I take it transporting on the roof is preferable then? (If a bit tougher to load!) I rode my Bosch CX equipped bike off-road in absolutely torrential rain a few weeks ago & it didn't like it. Showed a battery connection fault...

Vitus E-Mythique LT Enduro EMTB - Bargain of the year

I wonder if they'll go back to the 30 or 32% off they had? If not, they're starting to appear on the 2nd hand market. Who will handle warranty stuff once CRC are gone? Do Bafang have a warranty team in the UK?

Vitus E-Mythique LT Enduro EMTB - Bargain of the year

Anyone looked at putting a Bafang M560 motor in the E Mythique? I'm guessing the 48v battery requirement would cause the biggest headache? Just asking as I have the option of a bare frame.

Comment by 'namastebuzz' in article 'How to keep you hands warm in the freezing cold?'

You missed out heated gloves! I don't usually get cold hands with normal gloves but in severe temperatures I've used gloves with a little battery pack on the cuffs and heating elements in the fingers & over the back of the hands. Work well. On my motorcycle I have plug in 12v clothing...

Would you buy a bike that can't be derestricted ?

Yeah, of course if you're going really fast then pedalling doesn't come into it. It's the flowing bike park type trails that aren't that steep where you get the problems especially when you want a bit more speed at certain points.

Anything known about a Bafang gear box motor?

Kindernay may resurface in a cheaper form if some far Eastern company buys their intellectual property. Who knows? I don't need an excessive amount of power either. I just want it! 😁

Would you buy a bike that can't be derestricted ?

But restriction DOES matter on the downhill. That's the whole point. You're pedalling down a flowy descent then you hit 15.5mph and the motor cuts out leaving you mashing the pedals on what feels like an oil tanker until the speed drops and the motor cuts in again. Then you pick up speed...
