So, did you keep or sell your non eMTB? Any regrets?

I'm only 71, so I still have my mountain bike. I'm in Utah and I love my ebike, but I consider the two bikes as 2 circles on a vin diagram - some overlap and some not. I head to Moab regularly - there's nothing like puking up blood climbing to Burro at 11,000' on TWE and ebikes aren't allowed...

    First time buyer needing help

I'm 71 and have mountain biked since 1989. I also live at 6500 ft elevation and am an "empty nester", so I have more time available to ride than you do. But I can empathize with your priorities! In my case, I need to limit the weight of the bike to under about 50 pounds (my shoulders aren't...

    First time buyer needing help

"Keep your powder dry". There are some really interesting bikes that have just dropped and I'm betting more will come out in the next 6+ weeks. Your options in Sweden may be quite different than your options in the U.S. We all have different priorities as well and there are some smoking deals...

Spare inner tube or tubes for mullet?

Can you access "Amazon"? I have the Pirelli brand in a 29 and in the 27.5 I have an off-brand cheaper one for my wife's bike. Turbolito makes them as well, so you should be able to get them from various online sellers or at a local shop.

Spare inner tube or tubes for mullet?

Yeah, they are space efficient and light. I have a sous vide vacuum that is handy in that you can put a tube (either one, regular or fancy) in and vacuum pack it to take up less space. Normally it's not a problem but space between my seat (when down) combined with bottoming out suspension is at...

    Other Can we talk brakepads

On the very rare occasion that my pads get contaminated, I hit them for 10-20 seconds with a sous vide torch.

Spare inner tube or tubes for mullet?

Yep. On the really light TPU style, I'd stick with a 27.5 for 27.5 and 29 for 29. They don't stretch well.

    EMTB manufacturers are price gouging.

This seems unlikely. There are probably plenty of motorcycles and scooters available that can be filled with fuel (even if you have to siphon it out of another vehicle) or regular bikes. OTOH, plugging in a charger after an airstrike or artillery barrage doesn't seem like a good option.

    Garage Doors

Not sure who you're talking about. If it's Stihldog ("Insulated panels. You won’t regret it."), he suggests insulation. So do I.

    Garage Doors

Enough insulation. I'm in Utah and my garage generally stays above about 35F even when it's -15F out. Electric back up in the form of batteries integrated into the system. Security - automatic dead bolts and release cords that can't be accessed between door panels. I need up/down doors, Vs...

Cush Core on front wheel for EMTB?

I tried using Turbolight inserts for a short time. The set up acted like a butter churner and separated out the latex from my sealant making it ineffective for sealing holes. Also, removing the tire (in the event that is needed on the trail) was very difficult. I removed them front and back as...

Best tubeless for my emtb?? Help reqd!

For tubeless operation, sealant is essential, otherwise any punctures you get while riding will not seal. Everyone has their favorite sealant. I use Orange Seal, but it's only personal preference. I've used Stans, but I opened up a tire once and the solids in it had coalesced into something that...

Installing Hayes Dominion A4 or other Brakes Tips?

I don't know. I've never used brake cleaner on bike gear.
