Like some others, I just bring a CO2 inflator as I am generally not far from the car. If I was on an epic somewhere I would bring a small pump and a tube as well.

I use battery pressure washer. This time of year the bike is filthy almost every ride. I'm careful around potentially risky stuff, dry carefully and store inside. Not had any issues. I definitely try to wash the bike as fee times as I can, but sometimes there's just no choice.

Yeah, the key is getting into the habit of not letting it sit being caked in crap.

I just use a brush and water. Not washing my bike is just not an option in Scottish Winter (or summer). Once inside I wipe down with a cloth and lube the things that need lubed.

Yeah fair enough. It just doesn't really make sense to me. I suppose this is the internet where we can say one thing is more fun than another as if it's a indisputable fact.

It's a nice to have but certainly not a deal breaker for me personally. Also as far as I'm aware you can no longer do the Shimano/axs combination (and you wouldn't want to) on the new Transmission. You can still run the old combo on any bike.
