If you value your health, do NOT rely on any Giant supplied device. While I love their bikes (have 2019 Trance & 2022 Reign), anything software/UI related is atrocious. I have a fairly cheap Huawei watch that will buzz on my wrist if heart rate goes outside normal parameters.
It is surprising (and annoying!) that no one has leaked the Giant dealer software/dongle. I had a good search a while back inc. some good dodgy Russian sites but no luck :(
I don't want to have to bodge a Bafang motor/battery in my Giant frame haha!
@Rankbad - please please post some more info when you get time. I'm sure my 2019 Trance is heading the same way and after the battles myself & friends with Giant have had with NZ dealers (motor creaking, busted freehubs, evo display issues, random power offs etc.) I'm 100% sure they won't even...
"Leaving a battery on the charger after its charged is also not good for it. "
I call BS on that - modern smart chargers (of which our Giant definitely is - look at the freeking size of it! ;-) ) don't do a "trickle charge" once the battery is full.
I used to worry about wearing out the battery...
"Here in NZ, our pedal assist speed limit is 32 kph " Heya - actually I don't think this is true. We only have a power limit (300w) in NZ.
The 32kph thing is just what manufactures have used for other countries so they just leave them the same when selling in NZ.
Budget Trance E+3 owner from Tauranga ;-) Have actually had a great run out of it other than suspension bearings that failed way too soon. Still on original firmware so missed out on the "fun" times with the stupid app.
